Tires sizes for a good stretch

I just bought a new set of wheels, they are 19x8.5 up front and 19x9.5 in the rear. I was wondering what brand if tires stretch the best and what sizes to use in the front and rear.

They are a 40 offset all around and in gonna do spacers in the front and rear. I bought megan coikovers and plan to drop car at least 2 inches all around. I want a really good stretch on both front an rear so I was wondering what size tire to go with?

I always use my custom diy tires. I make them from rubberbands from staples, the Office Depot ones are not good for stretching.

If you use a makita heat gun instead of a harbor freight gun, the Office Depot rubber bands work just fine for a good stretch.

it's only full of win if the jokes are funny.

OP, sounds like you're going to lower the car pretty good...i would run a 225/35/19 tire on those specs, and use spacers to bring the wheels out flush. perhaps a 15mm all the way around.

I am confused though.

Your title states what size tires are good for stretch.

Then your opening statement says what brands are good for stretch.

What exactly are you looking for. Brands and sizes??

OBX has good tires on the cheap. They come with stickers that will add air ride as well.

Wow, I didn't realize this fad was still popular.

Then again...
- Impractically low ride height.
- Suspension and alignment changes that wreck the stock geometry.
- Wider rear wheels on a FWD car.
- Narrower than stock tires mounted on rims that are far wider than the ones the tires are designed to properly and safely function on.

Sounds like a great plan.

it's not a fad. it's a way to lower your car dramatically, while running an aggressive wheel setup. there is a ton of bad press about what OP is talking about, but as long as you don't go crazy with the idea...you'll be just fine. i've been running 225/35 tires on a 9.5" +25 wheel for over 2 years and haven't had one single issue...and my car is very low.

now...those people that run 215/35's on 11" wide wheels...yes, that is insane and i would not condone that.

if you keep it conservative, you'll be just fine. people just like to nay say the idea bc of horror stories they've heard.

You're* all assholes.

On a more serious note, lighten up a bit. Remember, it's the Internet. There will be those who help and others who try to rustle your jimmies. Welcome to Acurazine!

Who says we aren't helping you out? The "Hellaflush" style (which I'm assuming you're going for) almost always has significant negative affects practicality, driveability, and functionality of the car.

It is unbeknownst to us whether you have any knowledge of these negative effects or not. So us pointing these things out to you might tell you something you didn't know, and possibly prevent you from doing something to your car that you might regret.

People telling you something you didn't want to hear doesn't make them an asshole or a hater either.

A lot of people posts threads on this forum asking about various cosmetic mods that they apparently don't realize are unsafe and/or negatively impact the functionality of various parts of their vehicle. I typically try and provide that person with info/examples of why the mod is a bad idea. If that person still want to do that mod to there car, then that's fine. At least other people who see the thread will be armed with knowledge on the negative effects of said mod.

Do whatever you want with your car. It doesn't effect me, so I don't care. If it makes you happy, that's great. However, I think it is more helpful (not just to you, but the whole forum) to remind you of the considerable negative aspects of what you are doing, rather than just tell you things you want to hear.

BTW, a little time on Google or some math could have found you a good tire size for you application pretty easily.

I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do with their car. I'm simply pointing out the negative aspects of "hellaflush". For all I know the OP might have been completely unaware of them.

I realize there are lots of hellaflush cars out there that are "fine" as of now, but they are still running some rather important components on their cars in ways they were never designed for, which is something worth considering IMO.

Some people are obviously okay with seriously reducing the practicality of their car and undoing suspension and tire engineering that some very smart people put a lot of time and effort into perfecting. That's fine, I'm not bashing it. I just think it's better for people to have the knowledge to make an educated decision on these things.

you should see what happened when I asked for opinions on a wheel and how it might look.......and then all hell broke lose. Like DaeHanMeenGuk said, its the internet, and its just people, for the most part, just bein smart asses. Yes, some is un called for, but I am sure the majority of everybody on here legitimately wants to help when, where and how they can.

O.P...Not sure what mm spacers you will run, But at 2inch drop you can run 235/35 front and 245/35 in the rear... No reason to stretch unless you will be running flush specs all the way around...You would need some serious spacers at an et40 offset...
