Does anyone have Toyo tires on their rides? If so I would like to know what they think about them. I'm thinking about buying them for my 2003 TL-Type S

 

The Toyo T1-S is arguably the best tire for our cars.
Put mine on during the summer and they are fantastic!!!
215-50-17's will run you about $230-250 per tire CDN.
Do not compromise.
Go with this tire and you will not be dissapointed.

 

for that price i would buy the mich PILOT SPORT. that is the BEST tire made

I'm thinking of buying the Pirelli PZero Nero M&S. They are rated #1 by Tirerack shoppers. Pilots are rated 3rd. Still, I read many of the personal reviews on the Tirerack site and one guy bought these tires and then replaced them with same kinds once the first ones wore out. the pilot isnt rated as a A/S tire. the pilot sport A/S is all season

 

I didn't see the Toyo tires on that sight but the Pirelli tire seems pretty good. I guess I will buy The same size that came off my car 215/50/17just to make sure everything stays the same. Is it a better size tire to replace it with? I'm still not sure about the brand of tires though.....help

They really do look like the best set of All Season Performance tires out there. I checked into bigger size and found that everything matches and there won't be any speedo error. DMAC, please post your review of your new tires as soon as you get the chance!

 

On an 03 TLS can you get away with a 225 r50 17? I'be dropped about 1.8 front and rear and want to avoid rubbing, etc.

I ordered the 215/45/17 tire, not the 225. They said it would be a couple of weeks before I got them because they are out of stock. Must be a good tire. When I get them I will let everyone know how I like them!!

 

215/45's are 3/4" shorter than stock. 225/45's would be a better choice IMHO.

 

The stock tires was 215/50/17, I was hoping the Pirelli tires would be the same. The difference is I ordered 45 instead of 50 so it should be a little wider and not taller....right?

 

Not quite, 215mm. is 215mm.

What you have ordered are tires whose sidewall is approx. 45% of it's width. A 215/50 series tire has a atio of 50% sidewall height to width. This accounts for the loss of about a 3/4 inch in overall height.

Look at the manufacturer's RPM (revolutions per mile) statistic regarding each tire. The closer that number is to the tire you are replacing, the closer they are in overall height.

Can anyone tell me more. I think the 235/45/17 will be my best choice. I hope it's not too late to change my order.

 

235's require a minimum 7.5" wheel width. I would chance putting those on a 7" wheel but no way with a 6.5" wheel.

Quick question regarding tires. Will changing the tires significantly reduce road noise? The problem I'm having is that whenever I'm on the highway, there is a significant increase in road noise when I'm on concrete compared to asphalt.

I always thought the loud road noise was a Honda/Acura thing because our old '84 Honda Civic Hatchback was also like this. Will changing the tires to one of those recommended in this thread reduce the noise?
