Tire rotation

I just got my first oil change and thought i should rotate the tires. The dealer said they do: LF->LR & RF->RR, vice versa for rear. The manual says to do: LR->RF & RR->LF & LF->LR & RF->RR. Which should i do?
Also, my mid does not say to rotate the tires yet, should i wait for it to tell me so. How do i tell the MID ive rotated the tires before it "remindes" me?

Depends on if you have directional tires. The only way to rotate directional tires (other than actually removing the tires from the wheels and swapping them) is LF>LR, RF>RR and vice versa. If you have regular tires, rotate them as the manual says (the exact opposite rotation works, too...just use the same pattern each time). Directional tires = ASPEC wheels; regular tires = stock 17" wheels...this assumes you haven't gotten new tires from what came with the car.

As for the MID, the code it gives you tells you what needs to be done (code breakdowns are in the manual). How to reset the MID is also in the manual.

I see.

Sorry, ive got the factory 17 inch wheels on.

As for the MID question. I know how to reset the MID. I was just wondering if i should wait until it tells me to rotate, or just go ahead and do it?

Thanks!

I would reset the MID for oil changes, but not tire rotations, unless both are displayed

Can anyone tell me if the Pilot MXM4 that came on my 2005 TL w/ Navi are directional or not? And if they are I should just do front to back?

Is the term 'radial' interchangable with 'directional'? I've tried search google and gotten no answer.

Directional tires look like this:

Notice how the tread goes in one direction. I just looked up the MXM4's (Pilot HX MXM4), and they have a regular tread pattern (non-directional):

http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?ti...AE+HX+MXM4%AE+

Radial is a type of tire, and has nothing to do with the tread pattern. Here is some info (yes, I know it isn't about cars, but tires are tires)...http://www.michelingc.com/na_eng/News/85.html

If you had directional tires, you would rotate front to back, but with regular tires, you would want to do the crossing pattern.
