Tire Repair

Hi Fellow TL'ers,
Any advise on repairing 06 TL tire due to nail? Regular tire shop or dealership?
I kinda worry about the TPMS sensor if it repair by regular tire shop.

Thank you in advance for any advise

Go with the tire shop to determine if the tire is salvageable. Certain nail punctures are repairable, but others aren't depending on what was penetrated/damaged and how (i.e. if it's sidewall damage, a new tire will be the only option). You may be better off just getting a new tire.
As I understand the TPMS, it's not a complicated system and the sensors are self-adjusting after removal. Besides, other cars have had TPMS systems in the past few years, so it shouldn't be new to any tire shop.
Let us know how it turns out.

Depending on how close to the sidewall the puncture is, you can patch it yourself without taking the tire off the wheel. I just had a screw embedded in mine, about 1-2" in from the sidewall and used the "Safety Seal" puncture repair kit. They state this is a permanent repair as the plug actually bonds with the tire. You can checkout their site http://www.safetyseal.com/store/autokits.htm.

I want to avoid a tire shop damaging the wheel and this is pretty inexpensive way to fix your own flats with minimal cost or effort.

I took the tire to Just Tire. It turned out very well, they were aware/know about the TPMS and as long as not run flat tire they can fix it. They patch the tire from inside, which the way I wanted it and they rebalanced the tire. Only slight adjustment to the tire pressure before I left the shop. Drove the car for about 40 miles after that, the TPMS back up to normal and the pressure is holding. I am satisfied with the work.
BTW, I ask the dealership to fix the tire, the said it'll cot me 30 bux, whle Just Tire charge me for 22 bux.

Mod, you can close this threat. Thank you all.
