Tire rack story

I placed an order for Sumitomo HTR+'s for my TL-S. Since I had heard of them refusing orders because of the load rating, I put down that I was buying them for an Altima.

They just called me and told me that the diameter is about 1 inch off from the diameter of the Altima OEM tires and that my order is on hold until I call them back.

I just called back, and let the guy know that it's really for a TL-S and that I put down Altima because of the load rating issue.

He said he wasn't aware that they ever refused an order for that tire (regular OEM size) on a TL-S. He updated my info and they are proceeding with the order.

Go figure, I guess you don't have to "misinform" them...

...or maybe it was that I told him that if I didn't get them from the tire rack I'd get them locally.

Angry Tire Rack - HTR+

Just last week, I ordered 4 HTR+ for 2003 TL-S to replace the OEM MXMs which were getting bubbles.
Was called by Tire Rack and told, these were below OEM MXM load rating; this was just a warning and asked if I wanted to proceed. To which I asked, what is the difference, because I did not know exactly what that meant nor did that load factor show up on the tire rack list of parameters to judge matching the right tires. I asked if they had any calls or problems from TL-S users running the HTR+s. They said no problems reported. So I said go ahead and ship.

After installing the tires, I took my car back to the Acura dealer for inspection, they said no-way, no can do in Pa. According to state inspection rules, these tires do not adhere to Acura specified minimum load rating.

Well now, I'm upset, someone should have made that clear to me.
