Tire Pressure Error

I have an 07 Blk TL and i know when i change out my wheels i will get a system error msg. I dont want to spend the $ to buy new ones and put them on the new wheels cuz it'll prob cost a fortune , but it will be a good idea to have it on there. But anyway, is there a way to turn off the system if need be??

thanks

Welcome to the forums.

I dont know if there is a way to turn that off. When I bought my 19's I bought 4 new tire pressure sensors and installed them. 180 shipped for all 4. Not too bad to be able to retain factory TPMS in aftermarket rims.

I think I only paid about $160 for a new set shipped. Just have them install it on your new rims. Kind of expensive but worth not having the error message come up.

Thanks

Oh well i didnt know that the TPMS would be that much. Which is good. I thought it would have been a lot more. I didnt do my research as u can tell lol. Yeah it deff is a plus having the TPMS on the aftermarket rims just in case.

Thanks guys!

I didn't put the TPMS in mine and don't miss it at all .. didn't have it for the last 50 years .. never had a problem then .. it to me is more of a trinket .. I have always been able to feel a low tire front or rear and if one blows .. you will know before it tells you .

BTW E-Bay has them for $35 and 4 for $70.

All you get for an error is a ding and a message which you cancel then there is a little "TPMS" on the dash that you hardly see

You have a 1957 Acura TL with TPMS? Does it have bluetooth too?

To some people don't like getting that message. IMO--it's annoying and worth the money.

FYI- That Ebay deal looks good for 4 but it looks like it's a one time auction--"used" (I saw used because they took it off another vehicle and it's not in the sealed OEM plastic bag).

Some don't have extra money ... and used is fine .. the ones you have on your car are used ..

And no I don't have a 57 ... and actually 47 years of driving and never needed it .. lets face it .. its a selling trinket ... I'd sooner have had the rain sensing wipers my Passat had than this.

Used is fine but I'm just saying that is why the price is so low. Please don't assume that you know what I have or bought. The only reason my TPMS sensors are used is because I had them installed. I ordered mine through the dealer brand new.

Everything is a selling ticket...radio, TPMS, rain sensing wipers, navigation, air conditioning, power windows, power locks...do you really need any of it?
