The Continental seem like the better deal. All seasons with speed rating of Z, but the General UHP I had before (not the same wheels) have treated me very well.

Which one do you recommend? If neither, which other brand in that price range per tire? Thanks!

Why are you comparing a summer tire to an all-season? If you wanted to really compare, why not look at the DW instead of the DWS?

I just went to Discount Tire to get my tires mounted on my Pilot and I inquired about new tires for my TL. He had nothing but positive feedback for the Continentals. I would've considered it but they are asymmetrical and cannot be flipped to compensate for camber wear so I'm gonna go with the Yokohama S. Drives which he also said were good tires. Theres a $40 rebate with these tires if you buy before Sept 18 from Discount Tire or Discount Tire Direct.

 

I had 235/35/19 general UHP's when i had my ron jons on, Great tire but in the winter, or rain they really were not good.. Actually going to get 4 new all season continentals next week for my stock rims... BTW You cant compare all season and summer tires you wont get anywhere with suggestions

 

I love General UHP just because I had them for my A SPECs and they run great. I never researched tires before and just started because I got a good deal for the UHP from Discount Tire.

I mean there in the same ball-park of prices and also the Continental DW for 19" 245/35/19 are more expensive. I want something VERY QUIET and it seems like the Continental DWS does the work from reviews from AZ and from tire rack. It also has a 50k warranty add that with Discount Tire certs. I'm guaranteed to have a tire that last at least for 50k miles. And the fact that Texas rains a lot, it has good reviews on wet surfaces

 

i had general uhp's on my volk gtv's and they were pretty quiet...i liked em alot...went through 2 sets .. i was running 235/35/19

 

Again, why are you looking at the DWS if all you are concerned about is rain. DWS = Dry, Wet, Snow. If it doesn't snow in your area, just get the DW.

 

Probably because I will save $45 per tire, and that I travel a lot and don't know when I would hit snow. I will be driving too New York in Feburary, so I will hit snow, well I hope. I like having something that fits every condition just incase I have to move and adapt to a different area. (Medical School in 1 year so wherever I'm accepted, I'm going)

Maybe if more people on Acurazine buy from them, they will lower their prices even more.

you should go for continental ive heard great things about them. i have the generals and they dont work too well in winter rainy conditions and all

 

continentals are def more name and better quality tire.. to start off.. general uhp's are good but dont expect anything good come wintertime.. for general use the continentals are good.. tho they get pricey depending on the model you what... which is?

 

my buddy had continental all seasons on his altima and they actually worked really good in the snow
