TEIN STechs vs. HTechs
TEIN STechs vs. HTechs
Thinking about dropping my '06 TL. Not sure which one to get. Any advantages/disadvantages between both? Been reading up on suspension, but I still need more information on it.
If you are simply going the spring route how about some H&R Sport springs or H&R Race springs? They are comparable to the Tein's. I've noticed and you will too if you search that Tein's have more of a tendency to sag in the rear. Keep searching and you will find tons of useful information.
H-Techs are estimate to give a ~1.2" drop while the S-Techs are estimated to give greater than a ~1.5" drop.
I've been on S-Techs for almost a year now with no problems. I'm dropped between 1.5" and 2" but I've never measured. I haven't experienced the sagging rear like Vigor66, instead the springs gave me a slightly raked look which I like; the front is just a tad lower than the rear. I can tell you that the Eibach Pro Kit, which I had on my car for one day, made the car look like it had a full diaper.

From pics, the difference in drop isn't really noticeable between the H Tech and H&R Sports. I believe the H&R's supposedly give 1.4F/1.3R, maybe a little more after settling. The cars with S-Techs look noticeably lower all around. I'm guessing they give 1.75-2" after they settle.

^^I agree! I say that because I have them, and have been very happy with the ride.
I also have Koni SP3's paired with them, so I cannot comment how they are on stock shocks, although I read many reviews saying they were very comfortable, while losing that horrible wheel gap
. They do drop the front slightly more than the rear, but I like that slight difference (in favor of the front) being lower. Which also can be achieved with a non OEM, adjustable shock/coilover.

Im running on S-TECHS on Puerto Rico that the streets are not in the best conditions.
I like how they feel and love the drop they gave me, It I would gone with the H Techs I would not be as happy that I am with the S techs.
They are a little stiffer, but I already knew that and I was expecting it.
