TEIN SS settings!

Abridged version:
TEIN SS slammed has been bottoming out occasionally. I've had to get several alignments and even replace the tires a few times due to the toe getting out of whack. I raised it 1/4" tonight and took it over a few of the roads that typically cause me trouble. RESULT: no bottoming out and smoother ride! I'm amazed how much the ride quality has changed with only a 1/4" adjustment.

More details:
I've had the TL slammed on TEIN SS (stock 17s) with front wheels barely tucking and rear no gap for a little over a year now. At speeds of 80+ on the highway, I'd occasionally bottom out when going over a bridge, pothole, etc. While the car handled great, I even bottomed out on some of the crappy streets here in Atlanta driving only 30-35mph.

I called Marcus (Helltoe) and Henryk(dan.....k) to see if they had any ideas or heard of others with this problem. They hadn't heard of anyone, but I ended up with a couple of ideas after talking to them. Replace the front springs with stiffer ones or raise the car up. I raised the car tonight. Previously, I had the collars 10/16" from the bottom of the threading. I took them up 1/4" to 14.5/16 from the bottom and the ride has changed tremendously. I'd never have guessed that 1/4" of travel could make that much difference!

got some work to do, will check back later.

Why did you get the Tein SS instead of the Tein basic? Just curious?

Probably because the Tein SS is adjustable. If you have the EDFC unit installed, you can adjust it from inside the "cockpit"!! My next major mod for sure!

(Well, I am kinda waiting for the guy on here with the strut that'll work with the EDFC)

yeah, i had adjustable shocks on my Accord (KYB AGXs) and wanted the adjustability on the TL as well. Also running the EDFC (with no strut bar)...waiting for an easy replacement that will accomodate the EDFC motors
