Tein S Tech

How do people like there ride on stock shocks and Tein S Tech springs. How many miles does your car have and how many miles have the Tein springs been on for.

Mine is similiar. Did you cut the bump stops on your stock shocks? If not, the springs will not settle as well.

Here is mine: (though mine has settled about 1/2" more in front/back and is static now)

It sucks on oem shocks don't do it! Too stiff when i go over speed bumbs and rough roads. sometimes i feel like im in a 4x4 truck or something. I did like it for the first 5k miles but after that drives me nuts sometimes.

Installed at 20k miles currently have 31k

yeah, one of my friends is riding on Tein S techs on his civic and his stock shocks are blown. I would recommend getting springs and shocks.

What do you mean cut the bump stops on the shocks. What does the bump stops look like and why would they need to be cut.

Bump stops are the rubber cylinder pieces that are on the piston arm in which control how high/low the piston will travel with spring compression. When you lower your car with springs, you normally will want to cut a fraction of the bump stop (including a paper that came with the Tein's shows you how much, etc.) so that the ride is not bouncy, etc. I have done this with my past 5+ cars and it has made a world of differene and will prolong you having to replace your OEM shocks.

I have the comptech sway bar also.

Do you get a feeling everytime that it rains or snows that the back end can come loose at anytime. Its the scariest feeling.

Mio...SHocks is the term used for the whole unit Strut and coil together...I'm sure you mean the struts..... the coils dont usually wear out til they rust through...hahaha kinda obvious at that point! People say you're supposed to change the struts every 50K miles..... on these cars dropped...I'm sure they only last about 15-25K miles.....I'm really not fond of the way the car feels on the road going over 120 with the tein springs on it....it honestly felt great with the stock coils. I'm thinking of either doing the RSB or going back to stock if the rsb doesnt help

I have the rear sway bar and I think it made it worse. I seem to have more sway than most people.

I have the RSB, and honestly I like it. I haven't driven it faster than 120 mph yet, though.

The bar didn't enhance any feel at all when driving straight, because it's not supposed to. When you start turning, the bar comes into play. If you feel that your back end gets squirelly (sp) at times, during rain, loaded, or turning, you gotta get the alignment checked out. The toe might be out of spec.

The soft(er) stock dampers will wear out faster on lowered car because they have to work harder to compensate the stiffer springs, not because it's too low. Well, provided you don't throw away the bump stops. The lack of damping also makes the car feels bumpier and bouncier when you pair the lowering springs with OEM dampers.

Toe adjustment is part of alignment.
