i have the edfc active kit (in my signature)...i've been meaning to put up a thread on it since january haha. i took pics of my install for a diy and have all my feedback but just need to write it up. i'll do it this weekend so look out for it.

overall i love it and highly recommend it. last october i was the first one to buy it from xlr8 and not sure if many, or any at all, TL owners have it. this is one mod where my wife actually noticed it in a good way and i can tailor my ride to anyone that gets in. great technology!

i had the first active version (front and rear changes dampening based on speed and acceleration), but now they have an updated version that also changes left and right based on how your car is rolling. it gets pretty expensive though so i'm not sure i would have bought that version even if it was available when i was buying it

Here is a link to Tein's website and the different types of EDFC's that they offer which are all compatible with the Street Advance and Street Flex for the 04-08 TL's.

TEIN USA Homepage | EDFC Compatibility | TL | 2004-2008 | UA6 | STREET ADVANCE

The prices listed there are just list price. We carry all 3 for lower costs. PM me if you would like pricing.

Even the list prices aren't all that bad, considering what these systems can do. Are they only compatible with tein coilovers, or would they work on other brands too? I think the top end system could push my cornering abilities to a whole new level but I don't think the factory seats will be sufficient enough to hold me lol

They're not going to be compatible with other coilovers. If the stock seats won't hold you then maybe we can upgrade them? We are Authorized Dealers for Corbeau and Recaro! Let me know if you need something.

Haha, I'm considering doing the suspension in the spring time. I'm currently on A-Spec shocks and H&R springs. The ride is good and the rear height is good, but I wish I could lower the front another 1/2".

As for the seats, I sadly could never give up the oem ones. I'm an oem whore for the most part and although the seats don't hold well enough in the corners, it would drive me bananas to have to look at aftermarket seats everyday, lol.

Thanks sockr1!! how was the install and where do you have the controller located? i was thinking of ther glove box but since there the kit has more adjustment possibilities to control while driving the car i was thinking a little closer to the driver. Also did you notice any loss of stability with the removal of the strut bar?

ExcelerateRep, the prices on your website only list 1 model the EDFC Active Motor Kit Single Motor Only.

to me there was no point in having the controller in the glove box since sometimes i adjust it on the fly while driving (like an upcoming curvy section). i have it mounted to the left of my steering wheel above my knee, very convenient to change and watch the dampening change

i'm not sure what you mean about removing the strut bar...you shouldn't drive without one. i changed out my stock one with an rv6 one so that i could have the EDFC. there are threads on windows cracking if you drive without a strut bar.

i'll post the thread up by sunday and will put a link on this page. it will have pics and everything for the install

Yea TEIN is generated by the maker of our website which we have no control over so they may have updated all of the new parts. If you want, shoot me a PM and I would more than happy to provide you with prices and availability on any TEIN product!

Out of curiosity- how is "Tein" even pronounced??

Is it:

Tee-yin?
Tee-yen?
Teen?
Tine?
Tane?

I've heard different variations but it seems no one is really sure, lol. I figure that someone who deals with the company directly might know better...

And is it one in the pink and two in the stink? Or two in the pink one in the stink? Both work for me.
