Stupid offset question

Sorry guys for asking and sounding stupid, but will a 17X7 wheel with an offset of 45+ with215/50-17 tires fit the 2000 TL without rubbing or fitting weird? I have the OEM suspension.

Also how about a 17X7.5 wheel with an offset of 50+ with the same 215/50-17 tires.

Which would be better on the TL?

Several guys (including myself) have been successful mounting 215/50-17 on a 17x7 with +55 offset wheel with no rubbing problem whatsoever. The same wheel with +45 offset will move the tire outwards .4" which should be ok given your car isn' dropped.
17x7.5 with +50 offset will have almost the same results as above. Except the inboard extension will increase .05".
Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. In fact you have answered another question I was going to ask. I found another wheel that I like, it's a Team Dynamics called Diablo, it's a 17X7.5 with a +50 offset and I was going to put Michelin Pilot XGT H4 215/50/17's on them. I hope that would be fine as well. Do you think that would be okay too? Do you think there would be any rubbing?

Shouldn't have a problem given the difference being a mere .05" inboard increase. There are guys here that have successfully equipped their rides with 8" width rims with no problems, other than trimming a bit of plastic here and there. You should be fine.

The offset is stamped on the inside spoke on the factory rims. Not sure about after-market wheels.
