Studded Tires?

I have been looking for a TL for the last couple months and I'm still searching. I was wanting to find out if anyone has studded tires on their TL and how the car does in the snow and ice. Thanks!

studed tires? sounds like they'd grip good

225/50-17 would be the size you'd like to put on there

225/60/16 BF Goodrich Winter Slalom - Amazing traction on snow/ice compared to A/S tires. Boat like handling due to sidewalls is downfall.

Hata:
Have you used your General Altimax Arctic tires yet?
Are they studded?

Can you give a quick review?

Thanks.

Yup i have them on right now. It's around -30'C right now. lots of black ice on the roads. these tires are worth every penny. the studs make them much better in my opinion. rolling away from a standstill you are gonna get a little bit of slip that traction control takes care of. as soon as you get going you feel planted to the road.

Braking is improved drastically, especially at intersections where its iced over. Noise is very minimal, which surprised me cause i had studded tires before and they were very noisy.everyone that had studded tires told me it will be noisy as hell. but thats not the case with these on our cars. maybe has to do with the amount of sound insulation our cars have.

thanks. i ordered them from tire rack too. just have them studded when you get them installed. i believe they were #12 studs. make sure you ask before you take them to a shop. not everyone has a studding gun.
