Still having rubbing issues

I have a set of 19x8.5 et 38 and a 1 inch comptech drop and I am having major rubbing issues with any weight in the back seat. I new going into it that I may have some issues with that offset, however it is so bad that I cannot have more than 1 person in the back seat.

I am wondering if rolling the fenders will take care of this?

I am also wondering how and where I can have the fenders done at, or if it is something I can do myself?

At first I was able to trim a small peice of plastic in the fender that came from the aspec lip, but that didn't do shit when 2 people are in the back.

I'd say he must have a 245 or 255 series in the rear, roll them fenders or go 235

I have 245/35/19 +38. You think with 1 1/2 inch drop, i'll have to roll venders?

I am running 245/35 R19. I have no rubbing issues with no one in the back seat, however, when there is a couple hundred pounds in the back I run into some rubbing pretty bad.

Ehat is the process of rolling the fenders? Who can do it?

I have no probalem with rolling the fenders because to be honest, my car looks pretty damn good. so I will do what I have to do to keep the set up on there. I just eed to know either how to do it, or where I can do it. I do have some basic body tools like a bell hammer. But I really don't want to fu*k up the fenders with my ack yard fix its

You aremore than likely going to have to roll them. My rear tires are tucked in with a 1in drop. It is not a problem going down the road or over bumps, but when you go up any awkward angles you will rub for sure.

Then i'm not worried. I have never had anyone in the back seat and don't plan too. If I need to take more than 1 other person somewhere they either drive or I have my wife break out the MDX !!

lol,
that was real surprise to me. I've been asking about this setup 19x8.5 +38 with
245/35-R19 and I was ensured that I will not have any problems what so ever.

^^ from your avatar, your car looks dropped, is it? Do you have any better photos? My coilovers should be in today and hopefully installed by Friday, i'm crossing my fingers I don't have to roll fenders. I just don't want to be put in a position while the fenders are being rolled, the paints starts to spiderweb.

I have 19 x 8 30mm offset with 245 35 19 dropped on comptech springs and koni yellows, had to roll my rear fenders, slight rubbing on aggressive driving or a person in the rear. Biggest part that rubs was the where the rear a spec kit mounts to the bumper behind the rear tire. I cut it on an angle as close to the top screw as possible and i havent had any rubbing issues even with two people in the back.

maybe since the +38 sits more tucked into the fenders than the +30, I won't have to roll the fenders

I have alrady trimmed the aspec tabs down, but I am rubbing on the rear inside fender well.

Does anyone know where I can go to have them rolled? Could it be a DIY.

You're from Washington Right??? There's a guy in the Black Market Sponsored Vendor section that rolls fender in your area... just holla at him... he'll hook you up...

Good Luck...

To the OP, you mentioned that you are dropped on Comptech springs. The problem might be the springs, and not any issue with your tire size, or rim offset. If the springs that you have on your car right now happen to be grey, you might have installed defective Comptech springs. They are known to sag in the back and this has been well documented. The newer, non-defective Comptech springs are dark blue, or black in color. Hope this helps!

They are grey. God damn it. Should I just get new springs? I purchased these new off of eBay about 6 months ago. And now that I think about it, the car does look like it sags in the back.

What should I do?

The old Comptech springs, grey in color, are known to break years ago. A handful of CL owners had their springs broken a few years ago. I heard these springs are made by Bette Springs or something like that. Search on the CL section will show you a few threads of broken springs.

The newer Comptech springs are made by Eibach and they are bluish black. I guess when Comptech went under, they unloaded a lot of the unsold springs in their inventory.

However, the rubbing issue might be because of the tires. Some tires are larger than others altough they are of the same size. I believe most Kumhos, Falken FK452, Dunlop SP9000, are on the larger side. Dunlop Direzza DZ101, some Pirellis (the old P7000SS and some others), are on the smaller side.

My old setup was 19x8.5 with 35 offset and 245/35 R19 Dunlop DZ101 didn't rub the fender at all, only at the body kit tabs.

By the way, if you have rear camber kit, you'll have bigger chance of rubbing, too.

tclavell,
yes, my car is dropped on Eibach 1" and Koni yellow. Right now I have 19x8 with +35 and 245/35-R19 and no rubbing at all. However, I need new set for summer time and not just a set but it has to be really good set. That being said, I'm leading towards the 19x8.5 Stern ST-2 Touring Sport Hyper Silver and they have +38 offset.

If the springs are grey, does that mean they are defective for sure? Or does it mean they have the possibility of breaking?

I guess what I want to know is, do I need to buy knew springs right away?

Do you think the springs are what is making it rub?

If I bought new springs, like H&R or Tien S Tech do you think I would not rub even though it is a slighly lower drop?

I need help from you Spring experts out there...

Please do. I would like to see if that setup is going to give any problems.

I once held in my own hands a set of Comptech springs for 04-up TL (and 03-07 Accord V6) and the color is bluish black metallic.
