A-Spec question.

For those that have the A-Spec package, how much of a difference do you notice
in the handling as compared to a regular TL? I drove a 6 speed TL and I liked it but the suspension seemed a bit "floaty". This was compared to the 6-speed TSX I drove with it back to back. The TSX seemed a bit more "buttoned down" and "tossable" compared to the TL. I liked the TSX's suspension better but the TL wins in the engine department hands down. I just wondered if the A-Spec package helped make the TL feel a bit more "tossable" and "buttoned down" like the TSX.

Thanks, thats the kind of info I'm looking for. Did you ever drive a TSX? Are the A-Spec susp and TSX suspension similar feeling? What I need to do is drive an A-Spec but the closest Acura dealer is 2 HRS from my house and they usually don't have A-Specs sitting around.

Here was my review.

I would describe the ride as controlled without being harsh and flinty.

Just Love my A-spec package. I got one of the first ones in Miami, FL over a year ago! Matter a fact the first 6 speed in town as well, It was the auto show no-show and I was able to purchase that car. I drove a 99' BMW 540 six speed for three years, and a 2003 TL Type-S before my current TL. Its been by far the best car I ever owned. I drove it with the standard six speed suspension for few weeks before the A-Spec package was installed. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Its sinful to drive the car without the package! personally, I would pick my TL over my old 540i! Only the steering felt a bit better on the beemer, other than that everything else I like more on my TL! ....

I owned an 04 TL with A-SPEC and currently have an A-SPEC TSX. The TSX handles much better then the TL in my opinion. It's smaller and lighter and with a sway bar upgrade really takes corners well. If your looking for power get the A-SPEC setup on the TL. If your looking for fun to driver and great cornering the the TSX is a good bet. It just needs a little more power.

I recently had the A-Spec suspension and Comptech Rear Swaybar added to my TL and I must admit that it makes one heckuva difference. The car rides much more planted. Turns are taken with much less body roll and nose dive and rear end squat are also reduced. For me, it was money well spent.
