a-spec with cable type chains
Does anyone have an A-spec TL (04 or later) that the take to the snow using cable type snow chains?
After the lowering, is there enough room for the cables?
If the 18" wheels are a problem, could I use the the 17'' wheels with the cable chains?
I live where snow tires are not a practicle option.

The CHP doesn't require chains unless it is snowing very hard. You can get snow tires that are pretty damm good even on ice and snow covered roads from The Tire Rack or other tire store for the 17s for fairly cheap but the 18s will be very dangerous on snow or ice. Chains will kill your car. Rent a SUV

Chains.?.? HAHA. People still use those? I think that snow tires at this point are quite good, if they are not good enough get studded snow tires. If chains are legal where you are then I am sure that studded tires would be too. I have an 04 with a-spec body kit that is lowered about 1 1/2 - 2 inches (back wheels are tucked) and I run the gunmetal A-spec wheels with 245/40 18s in the summer and the stock 17s with snow tires in a 235/45 17 in the winter. The car is fine in the winter. If you get so much snow that you need chains then your car will be worthless in the winter, you will get stuck on the underbody. Just try snow tires, they will work. We get a ton of snow here in Michigan and it has never been an issue.
