A-Spec Brake Pads

Does any one know the composition material the A-Spec brake pads? I have searched here and the free world of internet coming up short. The Acura technicians don't even know, except that they are better.

The brakes work fine with the EBD gold series rotors. The brake dust is mild to heavy in my opinion. I'm thinking of buying the EBD RedStuff brake pads this week.

Also make sure that you buy the EBC 3rd Generation Gold Series rotors that have 3 slots instead of 5 slots. The 5 slots are noisy meaning that make this funky aerodynamic noise while spinning; this process is the wind flowing thru the slots to cool the brakes. The 3 slot rotors are suppose to be much more quiet. The guy I bought mine from on eBay listed it as 3rd generation but they were 2nd generation...so yes I'm pissed.

You can't find the answer because A-Spec brake pads does not exist. At least I never heard about it. Where did you find out about A-spec brake pads?

Huh? lol

They do exist infact and are sold for both brembo's and base calipers I believe. I just bought a set for $119 shipped (great deal) from Findlay Acura in Las Vegas last week for my '05 5AT and they are arriving today. I'll post up pics tonight hopefully.

Yes, they do exist. I have them and can post the pics later if you want to see. And they are MUCH better than the stock pads. It was night and day between my car and every 3G loaner i have ever driven.

Heeltoe also sells them on his site. He is pretty knowledgeable, you should sent him this question.

So, I keep hearing about the RedStuff pad being better performance and lower dust? Has anyone compared them the OEM A-Spec pads?

At the Acura dealership. Part# 08P89-SEP-200. Some people are quick to smack down a topic!

My neighbor has the EBC RedStuff pads on his BMW and does not like them. He is getting the Hawk HPS pads. His EBCs are loud until he rides around the block and warms them up. The A-spec pads that I have on my car right now is a nice improvement over the stock. I like them. I just ordered another set today for my wife's car.

Im currently using the RedStuff right now. Honestly, DONT get them! They dust like my oem brembo if not a bit less..and the bite isnt as nearly hard as the oem brembos when they're hot.

Now I never tried the Aspec pads so I cannot campare to that. But if u have tried or have an idea how the oem brembos are, then u can compare to that.

I have been running the Hawk Ceramic pads for more than 15000 miles and they still dust too much. I'll be trying something else next time I need pads. The stock pads are the worst dusting pads I have ever seen.

i've read on here that hawk pads are pretty bad x_X.

was also wondering if the calipers that say "Acura" on them could be put on a base model with no problems?

Just installed the a set of the A-spec brake pasd front and rear that I purchased from OEMACURAPARTS and these things are such an improvement over the standard pads. I wished I would have done it sooner!

That's funny, for something that doesn't exist, I'm on my second pair on my car.

Edited to add: Never mind. Way old thread.

I cant find the a-spec pads for my 04 AT base TL. The dealer said that he thinks they are the brembos and that they will not fit a base TL. The ones on ebay dont give the buyer enough info to not feel like they are being scammed. Oemacura doesnt have a picture and they didnt specify if 08P89-SEP-200 are front or rear or both. PLease help me find these a-spec pads that yall are talking about. My breaks are almost dead!!

The AT cars don't come with the Brembos, so that's why you can't find them for your AT. Only the MT came with the Brembos.

Further demonstrating how little personnel at the dealerships often know about these cars.
