Someone tried to steal my wheels... :(
I would have never thought it would happen where I live but I walked out this morning to seven lug nuts on the ground.
Three on one wheel and two off on two other wheels. Which to me implies three people working together. But three people didn't see the wheel lock? Maybe they just got spooked and bugged out?
No damage though. Thank God.
Is it possible and or reasonable to insure stuff like that? I mean they aren't Works but they are freshly powdered 8.5 aspecs...

that sucks man, sorry to hear that. at least they didn't get anything though! as long as you have proof of purchase/pictures you can get reimbursed through your insurance...i would also call your provider and confirm with them tho. i use 2 diff sets of wheel locks on my wheels.
there were a couple of less than reputable characters walking around my car last night in my development. i park my car literally 15 yards from my bedroom window.
i don't know what they were up to...but i didn't like it, so i hit my panic alarm button and they all scattered like cockroaches when you turn the lights on.

Well...they are OEM wheels (oem lugs/locks too). So what kind of aftermarket locks can I buy that have the ball seat type?
I would assume if I can't find any aftermarket lugs that I can't find any aftermarket locks...

There's a million choices, here's just on Amazon.

Just basically read the reviews and determine how much you want to spend/what color you want. My S10 and TL both have McGard wheel locks, they seem like they're rated pretty high. Good luck! Might want to look into a Viper alarm too!

So our accounting manager, who lives like a quarter mile from me, came back to my office this morning and told me the ghetto bird was directly above our area last night for an hour between 2:30-3:30. If it's not directly related I'm willing to bet that it spooked the people off and if it hadn't of been there I wouldn't have wheels this morning... Lol

I bought a set of oem locks on eBay for 12$ shipped. Keep an eye out and get a second set; you'll be good.
Also, get an alarm system. Cheap insurance compared to what we spend on our cars

I think he's trying to say he got another identical set, 2 locks on one wheel is better than one lock. If they really want the wheels they're gonna have to beat 2 wheel locks off instead of just one.

Yes, I believe they're all slightly different. For someone that knows what they're doing, they'll put a similar looking key on the lock and beat it on there to get it open.
BUT, having two different locks on each wheel is added security and more of a pain in the ass for the thief. The longer it takes him to get them off the more chance of giving up or getting caught.

I do but I have to pay for it. It's like $90/month. :s
What I did was I tracked down the guy in the truck that always gets home when I do. I paid him $20 to always park next to my car when he can. Then I always park in a corner. So between him and my wife I never even have a chance for door dings. Lol
I've been content with that so far but after this morning...

I'd definitely say watch out for them to come back and maybe invest in another set of locks. Worse case scenario they come back and are able to get them off now that they know what is holding them on. Definitely nice to have them on the wheels tho. Just some extra piece of mind.

If the thief has a master key set then you can throw on a Honda OEM lock. They look the same but they're slightly different with 6 points.
Good luck

This morning while reading Acurazine, there was an ad banner from State Farm insurance. This is where I got the graphic from. It caught my eye and I thought "oh, I know where this would be appreciated . So, I did a "print screen" of the ad for this thread.

OP is correct there are very few aftermarket ball seat locking lugs, I have only been able to find two sets for our vehicles in hours of searching.

for anyone with this problem after searching a while here is what I found,
There seems to really on be 2 options the mcgards or Saniks. The mcgards are clearly shorter than OEM so that is not a good option. The Saniks which can be found on ebay for $20 look to be longer than OEM. But also the nice part is if they are not long enough they have plenty of area where you could shave down the end and then powder coat to convert them to an open end.
