Snow and ice in inner part of rims made car shake badly

First:
I have never experienced any kind of vibration; shake with my TL before today.
Second:
We have a lot of snow in NY.
I took my TL for a small trip to get new boots (modells) and once car was on freeway it started shake, vibrate very badly.
Once I get to parking lot I looked around and found that there were many snow/ice/dirt in inner part of wheels (OEM rims).
I am just surprised why it never happed before on my old Maxima (it had rims too)
Has anyone ever experienced similar issue?
By the way after I removed almost all snow (it was very cold and windy) vibration almost gone, but not completely.

i've experienced this problem with every car i've ever owned. it's simple physics...

if you add weight to one side of a circle... its going to throw off the balance and cause it to vibrate.

but anyway, yeah I had the same problem today. took a 50 mile trip on the highway... it took about 15-20 minutes before the ice finally broke away from my wheels and the vibration stopped.

holy crap that JUST happened to me today I thought I had a flat. I spun out and got all kinds of snow all up in every crevice then I drove away and was shaking like a frieght train.

Unhappy

so as I can see I am not alone with that.
however as I mentioned in original post I had never had such case with other car(s) even these cars had rims as well.
any idea why it happens with TL rims?

Huh? Don't ALL cars have "rims"? Are you trying to say that somehow these Acura rims are different than other "RIMS"?

It will happen with any type of car/rims. The extra weight throws your wheels out of balance. Just knock the snow out of there, not a big deal.

It has happened to my previous cars too (maxima, legacy, impreza)

I started a thread earlier about the same thing that happened to me. I am just glad it wasn't something mechanical.

Happened to me today as well. I've never felt such a bad vibration. I was driving down I-95 making the "motorboat" noise. Sounded like someone was drumming on my chest.

Maybe the reason you guys are noticing it more on the TL is because of the style of the rim. It is a 5 spoke open design so perhaps more snow can get in?

I don't know, just guessing why you didn't notice it so much on the Maxima. Maybe it had a multi-spoke wheel that wasn't conducive to getting snow in there...

I was wondering the same thing.

I've had the same issue with almost every car I've had with alloy wheels. The snow in the rim is affecting the balance of the wheels. Just clean the snow out.

At least it was just the snow throwing the balance off. I've seen other cars, where the snow got on the ABS sensors, and sent the traction control/abs on a tizzy, until the ECU finally gave up, and flipped on the idiot lights.
