For my personal taste, I would go with silver.....but if on the other hand, you want to drive around lookin all "BlingBling!" then everybody would tell you to get them in chrome. Tough choice but allot of folks would say since your car is silver, get the silver.

Do you have any pics of the wheels in silver?

I got a question. Why does Songoku sound so Japanese to me? I speak it but that word/name don't ring a bell. Just curious .

CHROME all the way.
If you are about luxury get the chrome but
if you are about sports... you can get the silver

for those wheels.. you should get the chrome.. I don't think the silvers will look that great.. that is unless it has a chorome lip.. then it would probably be pretty nice..

hey Chris..
songoku

Think Dragon Ball Z

You're correct! That's main character from japanese cartoon, Dragon ball Z.
I am not real big fan on Dragonball Z, but I kind like that name.

Ahhhhh....Dragon Ball Z. Came out way after I left Japan I think. Since coming here, I've become a dumb American and basically stoped watching most anime's .....damn they were soooo goooood.

I miss being a kid again.

Paul, on second thought, those particular wheels might not look good in silver. The style seems to require chrome plating, IMO.

I am looking at the catalog for Lowenhart LD1 silver now, but it doesn't look so bad to me.
Specially, I am not really huge~~ fan on SHINNY CHROME, and I hate the fact that I have to pay $560 for chrome.

Does anyone have link for silver LD1??

Thanks Chris..... but the place I am getting from have either silver/chrome.

So what do you think??

If you're in my position, would you get silver or pay $560 extra to get chrome??? I know chrome looks great but $560 keep bugging me.

I agree with Eric, go for the silver. Look's really nice IMO.

One word of caution Paul, don't let the pictures of the LD1's fool you into thinking how deep the wheels will look. I mean, go by Ron's pic with the proper offset. Most manufactures show their wheels with that nice deep lip which are usually a rear wheel drive application. You know what I mean.

Patrick, I saw your post. Thanks.

Eric, I was thinking about getting Volk Racing Challenge at the first time. Then, I found out that those rims are back order for 3~4 months. (They told me they have to order it from Japan or something.) Therefore, I decide to get LD1 since I loved it after I've seen Ron's ride.

Thanks Chris, I still haven't decided whether I get 18 X 8 or 18 X 7.5. What do you think??

I know what you mean, Chris.

But I can't afford 19's like Ron's, though.

No no, I would think a 19 and a 18 with the proper offset for our car would look the same (depth wise). The overall diameter would be bigger ofcourse but the distance between the front of the lip (the portion thats the furthest out) and the face of the rim are going to be much less on a high offset setup that our cars require. The deepness of the lip, not the circumference of the lip.

It's not as deep a dish, as the pics show. If you look at Ron's wheels, you can see that the wheels face is almost flush with the outer rim. (outer rim=the part that would suffer if you hit a curb)

As for 7 1/2 or 8, what kind of offset do they have? You'll probably be safe with 7 1/2. But I know 8's would work with a nice offset and tire combo too.

Picking out a set of wheels are a PITA!! First it's the situation with the fund's. Then once the fund's are available, all of a sudden, you can't decide on a rim.

Good luck Paul.

songoku,

What size are you putting on 18" or 19" rims.

Also since you have a white color car the chrome will stand out and will not take away from the color of your car.

I have a anthracite mettlaic 03' type S acura and I'm probably going to put on 19" Alstadt legart.

respond!!
