Well, I'm still trying to do my homework to find out what I like and also what will work. I really like the idea of running some wide back tires, but I don't want to go staggered because of my commute and I'd like to rotate tires. So I'm on the fence about trying to run 18x9 or 18x9.5 all the way around. I don't want to stretch or sacrifice a lot of quality, but I like the close-to-flush look (I know- I probably can't have my cake and eat it too). So I'm trying to find out what I can fit... I don't mind rolling/maybe trimming my fenders, but I don't want to pull. Right now I'm considering a slight drop - probably aspec. I know I'm going to need SOME kind of drop, and I'm hoping the MT aspec on a AT will be enough.
So I'll ask an extreme example: Could I run an 18x9.5 wheel with maybe 265/35R18 tires, a 1 inch drop and rolled fenders? I know A LOT depends on the offsets and that's what's most confusing to me. Would that setup work/be flush-ish? Would it even fit? I'm trying to figure out for myself what offsets will work and when, etc...
Here's some tire calculations I did. I'm currently running 245/45's on the stock wheel. What would be the best for that setup? I like the idea of a tire with decent width for rim protection and looks.

Thanks for the help! I'm trying to learn this stuff so I don't have to ask a bunch of questions.

Excuse the question again, just to be sure. So this car has 18x9.5 with a +45 offset and 275/35/18 with no spacers? If so, this setup looks nasty!! Could I go 275/40/18's without any problem of rubbing due to the additional in the 40 height?!? I am running the A-SPEC suspention. Look forward to your input.

i coughed up money for a custom hub and wheel centric spacers nothing drastic just 5mm for my front wheels to clear the brembos. i waited 5 weeks for them. haven't put them on yet to replace the ones i have on the car. i have a subtle vibration (i've already gone through all the possibilties for the cause) which i'm hoping will be eliminated with these spacers.
i know ichiba makes hubcentric spacers but they are not custom fitted. so your choice.
however since you want flush you will have to get a wheel adapter (required for anything >5 mm. your stock lug bolts won't be long enough with spacers > 5mm.

Jwrong - Thanks for all the help, man. I love that setup that bforbrian was running - I'd like to do something similar but I didn't know his specs. Thanks for your help. I'm guessing that a 45 offset is as low as you can go and still run a set up like this, huh? I like the concave look, but I'm starting to realize I can't run as wide as I want and have concave wheels without low offset and stretching tires. I think I'm gonna go with something similar to bforbrian.

Dude, do some searching. There are threads about spacers everywhere. Several on the first page in the Tires, wheels, and suspension subforum. Ichiba spacers are probably the most popular and reputable. They're hubcentric, come in several sizes, and will suit your needs just fine. Just do some browsing and searching on the forum.

for your "flush" applications which means running >5mm say a 20 mm wheel adapter custom...yea, i did a rough spec and price for a set of 4...$270...then add shipping. these will be hubcentric and wheel centric.
like jsonkimz said...you really need to do some research....the info already exists. so i'll give you this one. most of us a nice people, but repeat threads or questions to things without research kind of get annoying. so with that said...happy modding!
