Rims for winter

Rims for winter
So im pretty new to the whole aftermarket wheel game. I was just wondering if there is a type of rim that can be left on during winter. I live in NY and dont really feel like always having to switch between the two sets. Is there a type of finish I should be looking out for? Any help would be appreciated.

^not really a special type of finish or anything like that. i would just get some stock wheels with winter or all season tires. i'd also get a spring/summer set of nice wheels that you want to run during the good months.
what do you currently have?

^keep them on for winter...maybe pair them up with some winter tires or nice all seasons. idk where you live or how bad your winters get tho, it's all subjective. just use your stock wheels as winter beater wheels and get some nice summer wheels/tires in the spring.

I had lexani wheels in the dead of winter and switched from those then put ron jon's as the winter was finishing up. I would say def an alloy wheel. Most of my cars that had rims even chrome i have never taken them off when winter came and never had any issues. I have had wheels from many different companies. I live in N.Y also and i am def not with swapping wheels every time the seasons change. Most companies now make pretty decent wheels that are good. Not to mention a good number of the stock wheels on cars are made by wheel companies that also sell the same wheels aftermarket with slight adjustments to not look exactly like the stock wheel.
My opinion some nice alloy wheels and when you can keep them clean don't let to much salt settle on them.

I would just rock the stock wheels. My wife has done her job of turning them into my new winter rims with her curb jobs...

Winter and snow tires are expensive and wear out fast on dry pavement.
In my area, there's usually only a handful of big snowstorms a year and the streets get cleaned pretty quickly. All-season tires with more than 50% tread have worked well for me.

OP just keep the stock wheels and pair them up with snow tires for Winter. Then when Spring, Fall, & Summer comes around get a nice set of wheels with some low profile tires.
That's my setup.
