Replacing Tires. Recommendation Needed

I am getting new tires soon, or would like to actually. I need affordable tires, and I was looking into some Falken 912s. Does anyone personally have any reviews on these tires. I have read up on them and they seem great but I would like to know how they do on the TL when it comes to handling and road noise. Also would you guys suggest getting all four tires at once or would I be ok, buying two now, and then two more in a few months and just continue to rotate.

I haven't had any personal experience with the Falkens, but I have a friend that runs a set of Falkens on his 540 Bimmer. He says they're great for the price; however, he goes threw them fairly quickly. On a side note, just to throw you a recommendation, check out the Bridgestone Potenza 960s. They're a bit pricey, but you definitely get your money-worth with those tires. They lasted me 45k+, and the only reason why they didn't go longer, was because I sold them along with the OEM rims. That and they're SUPER quiet - phenomenal traction in both dry and wet conditions. As for getting only two wheels, I'm not quite sure on, but if my memory serves me correctly, you'll want to replace the back two wheels if you're only going to replace two of the four - has to do with traction and safety, I think. Personally, I'd recommend swapping them all out at once - you'll save time and money; cheaper for installation on 4 than on 2, then 2 again later, I'd imagine. I know I didn't really answer your question, but I hope that that helps some what. Good luck!

I highly recommend this place. http://www.onlinetires.com/default.aspx Tirerack.com doesn't carry Falken tires so I got them there. Go for the Falken 452s.

Well I was looking into the potenza 960s, and as much as I would like to get them they are a lot of money and I may not be keeping my oem wheels for long. Will probably upgrade in about a year or so. As for the tires, I am the second owner of the vehicle. I bought the car with 48k miles on it back in february, and now the car has 61k miles and the tires are almost about done. As far as cost on mounting the tires, I'm not worried about it. I can mount them myself at a shop on my base which should only cost me like $10 including disposal of old tires.

i heard that the new Goodyear GT (something like that) is supposed to be pretty decent for all season.

I think they're $135 apiece from discount/america's tire for OEM size. Friend just put on those Potenzas, they rode real nice although it's hard to say for a brand new tire.

That's not as cheap as the Falkens though. I can get a set of four for $360.

For your budget, also consider the General Exclaim UHP. Comfortable ride, very good wet traction, all you reall sacrifice is hard cornering, which you won't get with the Ziex 912s anyway. The FK-452 is the better tire from Falken.

Replace all four for best and most predictable handling.

Well I decided to go with the Falken 912s. We will see how these hold up. Thanks for the inputs though.

Got them on ebay from discounttiresdirect.com, when I ordered through ebay I got free shipping. Highly recommend them, I got the tires in 3 days and they were shipped from texas to virginia. The Falkens are great in my opinion so far, they ride great, and are pretty quiet. I will say however that they are a bit heavier over the turanzas.

I ran the Potenza RE 960's in 19's for awhile. Excellent Excellent tires. Like stated will easily last 40,000 miles or more with a 400 tread life and are great in dry and wet conditions. However they are on the pricey side.
