replacement wheel lock key
replacement wheel lock key
so I lost my lug key to my wheel lock. Cant find it anywhere. Is there anyways I could order a replacement through acura? Pretty sure theses came one the car stock. Any input is appreciated, thanks!
My OE wheel lock key shattered when we were installing my suspension.
Apparently, the last bozo who did a flat repair on my left rear tire torqued it to Kenworth's standards when they put the wheel back on the car. My tech ended up having to install the spring and shock without removing the wheel.
I stopped by my local Acura dealership at 4:50 PM that Saturday on my way back from the install to see if they could quickly remove the lock. I expected to be told to come back on Monday, but the service manager came out, went through about 18 different key patterns, and finally found the right one. Took it off for me in under a minute. So, now I'm runnin' with no locks at all.

they are mcgard. did you send in your paperwork to register your key code for the locks? if so, just call mcgard, and they'll mail you one for about $10-15. i always buy a second one immediately. one stays in the trunk with spare, and the other in my tool chest.

Hmmm...
there may not seem like a need for immediate action, but if you get a flat, you'll be pissed. Stop by the dealership and see if they'll take them off for you. Say you bought the car and the dude never gave you the lock.
Then go buy a set of gorilla locks for 20 bucks or so online and they'll ALL be locks.
You can even choose a different color lug!

i broke mine putting my new wheels on... take a picture of one of the lock lugs and call mcgard (www.mcgard.com) and they'll tell you where to email it to. they'll have one sent to you within a week for $15
here is a second option. tighten all 4 other lug nuts to 100 ft-lb to take some load off of the locking one. find a 12 point socket that just barely will not fit over the locking one and then hammer it on. now use a breaker bar on that socket. it has worked for me. your best bet is to hunt down that code from the previous owner or mcgard.
