I made a powdercoating thread on what color I should do my Type-S wheels. I have decided to go with Satin Black, I have seen some pictures and it looks really nice. My next question is... What do you guys think about that red lip around the wheel?

I just found that picture on google, it was the only WDP TL I could find with the stock rims and Red lip.

If I am powdercoating it Satin Black, Do you guys think I should get the red lip on it? Im not too sure if it looks better without it or with it. Let me know your opinion thanks!

It's not terrible and red is a Type-S "theme". Time attack just has potential to go really really bad, quick.

My personal taste:
I dont like the black theme, especially since it ruining the ASM TL-S.

Agreed. Gun metal or silver wheels work better on silver.

But, SSM is much better than ASM. I think that's the real issue.

Me too. As long as you have some other subtle red things to go along with it. It's all about being unique. I plan on throwing 33" super swamper boggers on mickey thompson rims..

I was thinking about doing this to my car. I think it looks different and hot. A majority of people rolling on chrome. Been there done that. Stick with what you like.

Red lip with red brembos on some 18s or 19s...I can dig it. On the facory 17s, I don't know. Would need some super low profiles like in the OPs picture.

Ehza, your attached picture looks great! Just go for it. People ask opinions on a forum like Acurazine and sometimes come away more confused than before they started.

Opinions are like assholes.....everybody's got one. Take everyone's input into consideration. But you like the look enough to post it....why not give it a try????
