I have a 07 tl-s, and i bought some rays lug nuts to put on my rim.....was it a bad idea to put it on the tls gunmetal rims?

why would it be a problem? As long as functionality is still good and you like the looks. It should be all good.

If you put aftermarket style lugs with a cone seat on your stock TL-S wheels with an acorn seat, then go outside right now and switch the factory lugs back on.

You are going to damage your wheels or worse by using aftermarket lugs on your stock wheels. Take them off before you injure yourself or someone else.

CGTSX2004 has spoken the truth!

From Tirerack.com: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/...jsp?techid=102

While many aftermarket alloy wheels are designed to use your car's original lug nuts or bolts, others require new hardware. It may be something as critical as differences in the wheel's lug seat design as shown below, or something as simple as shorter lug heads to allow the wheel's center caps to fit. If your new wheels require new hardware, your invoice will list the appropriate quantity identified by our part description, beginning with an "N" for lug nuts or a "B" for lug bolts followed by the size, pitch, seat design, length and the appropriate lug wrench socket size.

NOTE: Keep a set of your vehicle’s Original Equipment lug nuts or bolts in the trunk just in case you ever need to use your factory spare tire, which must always be installed with the Original Equipment lug hardware.

Tuner and Acorn lug nuts are the same thing. Don't know about newer Acuras, but if the OEM nut is tapered at the end then it's Acorn/Tuner. Older Hondas and maybe Acuras as well used Ball style lug nuts on OEM wheels.\

-stickwidit-, if you can get a pic of the OEM lug nut I can confirm.

Tuner and Acorn lug nuts are NOT the same thing. The OEM nuts have a slight radius so when you use a tapered lug nut (which is perfectly flat) it will only make contact for a few millimeters at the very base of the threads.

^That would mean it's a ball seat.

http://www.gorilla-auto.com/lug.nuts
Acorn=tuner=tapered 60 degree angle.

Proceed to page 7, third row. Honda Lug, ball seat. Like I said before I know older hondas used the ball seat OEM, but wasn't sure of newer cars.
