Quick lug nut question

I have lost my OEM set of lug nuts for stock rims. Is it just as safe to use the 'extended chrome' looking ones that the shop put on w/ my winter steelies? Or is safety compromised?

How much are a set of OEM lug nuts nowadays at the dealership anyway? **MOD EDIT**

it depends on the seat of the lug. oem wheels generally require a ball seat as opposed to tuner wheels requring a tapred/conical seat

no need to get "oem" lug nuts from the dealership unless they're free of course, because chances are they will try ripping you off. try your local automotive shop and look for

a pack of 20 lugs, 12x1.5 pitch, ball seat

they will fit but they wont sit correctly. look for a proper seat so you dont start causing new stresses to the wheels
