question bout rim width

I just ordered some 18s that are 18x8, could I wrap them with 235/40/18 tires? or is the rim not wide enough? anyone know?? thanks in advance.

8.5 ideal, but 8s work too. you should look up that size on the tire manufacturer's website and see the range of rim width fitments.
