Putting air in tires

I recently bought a 2006 WDP, ebony int TL with 38000 miles and love it to death. However, this is my first car with a TPM, so this is a noobish question...

When filling the tires with air, do you use one of those air pressure checkers (or whatever it's called) that you put on the air valve and gives you a reading or do you keep peeking your head in the car to look at the MID to see what the pressure is in all four tires?

Also, based on what I've read from another thread, I'm going to go with 37psi in the fronts and 35 psi in the rears...recommended?

I would use a tire pressure gauge in the morning before the car has been driven, then check the MID readings after starting the car to see if the readings match or if there is any difference.
Buy an accurate tire pressure gauge, and don't trust those attached to air hoses at gas stations or shops.

It wont match, but its close enough. The TPMS is great just to see a big change or drop around all tires, but there is a delay in the info so its best to manually check.

I use a separate guage.

The TPMS is close, but not quite the same.
