problems with tpms

so i mounted my new rims and tires and im getting the tpms error on dash even though i mounted them correctly, i dont want to take rims off since they will probably scratch the rims while doing so, besides mounting them to the rim was there anything else you have to do to sensors to get them to work? someone please help, on the other hand the rims do look absolutely gorgeous, i will post pics soon!

Did you drive for 5 miles or so @ speeds in excess of 30 MPH? I don't think that'll help you but it's all the manual says about the TPMS that applies to my knowledge. Are you sure the tire shop guys migrated your sensor without damaging it? Are all 4 of them busted or is this just a general "TPMS ERROR" that is displayed?

it is saying all four are not working, but it is actually saying all 5 sensors do not work but last time i checked my car has only 4 wheels, i had the manager of tire place put on so they didnt bust anything! do you have to put stem cap on the valve inside the tire?

You and talked about this already didn't we?
You got some Volk GT-Ss? Did you band clamp them in?
How?

How many miles have you driven? It can take up to 15+ miles for the sensor to "wake up" and register with the car.

Where'd you get the sensors? Used? perhaps defective?

What are the sensor PNs? - Wrong sensors perhaps?

Mark,

Let me know if you are going to fix this, because I'm getting my rims in today, and I'm gonna install my sensors. I don't want to run into the same problem.

yeah i bought them from acuraoemparts on ebay! they are correct part number i made sure! i have driven a couple hundred miles already! i used the iforged bracket to mount them, very secure! they were brand new sensors, my old sensors are still in old tires! they should have waken up by now! dealer says it will cost $100 just to look at it! rip-off! i will guess i will just deal with it! why is it giving me five errors! i think this is just a way for acura to make more money!

Umm no... This is not a way for Acura to make more money. TPMS is federally mandated... As in, ALL NEW CARS sold in the good old USA must have active TPMS by this year. You tax dollars at work there...

It appears your penny pinching bit you butt. You spent $almost $3K on NEW rims and tires but elected to save $20 buying new/used sensors from a knockoff ebay vendor?

That sounds familiar...

I always buy them new from Tim at Hondacuraworld.com or Acuraoemparts.com - Those folks are actual acura parts dealers. This way, I KNOW they're new, and will be warrantied if DOA. With all the PITA it is to get these things installed, and understanding the risks (everytime that tire comes off, you risk the tire man scratching up the rim), these must work the first time in my book.

These things are really impossible to screw up. If it's inside the tire, and not working, it's either the wrong sensor, or broken.

Did either of you contact the seller about them being DOA or possibly the wrong part number? I've seen that listing on eBay, and it claimed guaranteed to work on 06-08 TL.

Not sure if this applies to TLs, but for the G35, a new set of sensors must be programmed into the car at the dealership in order for it to be reconized. You can't just pop in a new set and hope it works. Maybe you need them programmed at an acura dealership?

^^^For Acuras, we just pop 'em in, and they synchronize with the car automatically.

I had a guy with an RL buy some Devotion-3pF wheels back when they were being made, he had a problem with the sensors not being picked up by the car, the dealer went as far as mounting the same sensors in an OEM wheel and they worked. Also, the same guy had the same sensors mounted in an Inspyre wheel and they worked flawlessly, as did all the sales we have ever gotten. Yes, other customers who got Devotion three piece wheels and other company 3 piece wheels probably had no problems as well, but i am going to ventrure out on a limb and say there is something (idk what) about 3 piece wheels that might have a random effect on the sensors.

so i called the people i bought them from and he said that for like 6 different orders his workers sent out the wrong sensors, so he offered to send me the supposed correct ones for $20 considering i had to alter initial ones by sanding down the plastic wings in order to get it to fit. my tire place said they would look at it to see if they could replace them! what a hassle but at least guy was really nice about it from ebay!

Dude, just as an FYI: most people don't like it if when you type in ALL CAPS. It is akin to yelling and just looks awkward to read.
