Arrow Poll on Wheels - Silver or Chrome??

Alright, people who have changed their wheels or looking to do so. What do you like more and why? Silver Finish or Chrome. My friend and I are having a debate on which ones are a better investment.

Right now, I like silver. I have noticed some older cars with chrome and they don't look nice anymore.

I know that Chromes are more expensive.

Which one lasts longer, doesn't chip? Keeps it's luster? Pics would also help greatly.

Thanks -E

Chrome is sharp looking, but more street-like.

Silver is more performance racing like the Touring cars. I like the silver look a lot better.

Chrome draws too much attention.

Plus, the only good chrome is Japanese Chrome or Superchrome. It has a lifetime warranty and will never chip. U.S chrome needs to be waxed and protected or it will chip and maybe rust.

I noticed that my Altsatdt's actually have a silver face but the sides of the spokes are chrome. It's the perfect balance so see if the other's have that too if you want.

I like chrome, but they are heavy. They also require a bit of maintanance. I would choose Silver wheels at this point in time.

That's why I chose silver - and it just happens to match my SSM perfectly.

It depends on the color for me. Since i have a red car, i like chrome. It is not difficult to clean to me, its not heavy either. Like any other wheel, if you don't clean them they will lose there luster/shine. However i do agree that american chrome, is not as good of quality as japans.

Silver! Chrome is too flashy, trendy. Actually, a nice combo is a silver center with a polished lip on a 3 pc. wheel.

If u want your car for show more than performance choose Chrome.
If u are more of a performance person u go for the Silver.
I'm all show so i got my Giovanna Barletta rims .....but its all personal taste. Some people like them and some dont. But everyone i know, like them or not always turn their heads when nice shinny chrome rims go by.........

I wish, E-Dub. I saw them in a shop just before I ordered them. That's what helped me decide.

I agree with you. Chrome just looks fake.....it almost never matches your car....it looks like it stands out too much. I like chrome on trucks better. NOT ON CARS.

chrome sucks. Only if you're a multimillionaire rapper or super ghetto street gangster do you get chrome rims aka "doves." Anyone else who gets them is just a wannabe dr dre thinking that they're balling. It's always funny to see chrome on civics and accords.

first of all giovanna rims are EXTREMELY crappy. I've heard tons of complaints about how the paint or chrome peels. They also bend. I guess you were too cheap not to mention dumb to get something good. If you were going to get chrome rims you should have gotten something a little higher class like altstadt or lowenhart. All the real ballers get those. Giovanna are just as crappy as hubs. Second, I didn't say u were a multimillionaire, what i said above implies that u are a wannabe multimillionaire. Lastly, it can be spelled dubs or doves, why are u all acting like you've taken an ebonics class? have fun rolling on your cheapo/cheezy giovanna "HUB DUBS" while the chrome is still on them.

Im sorry i say DUBS like f**king 99% of the people say it, and not Doves. Shit cheap......what the f**k since when as any chrome rims ever been cheap, except for those damn 3 spoke crap. Not a damn thing has happened to my rims in the 2 years i had them, but im sure u will say something about that. Oh well, my wannabe millionaire, baller a$$ is happy with my barletta rims. I guess i will wait until the chrome comes of my...how do u call them DOVES.....yeah Doves.

My Giovanna 18's are doing fine and I drive through terrbile New York streets and hit holes all the time and they haven't bent. I dont know about the chrome peeling because mine are silver and I dont like chrome. And I'm not CHEAP for buying Giovannas, I just didnt want to wait anymore for the Lowenharts that I REALLY wanted because they're very expensive and I have other things I want to buy. About being dumb for not buying something expensive I think thats just wrong too say. Just because some people want to save some money doesn't mean they're dumb.

chrome definatly enhances the tl a lot more. it should be the only choice for any luxury vehicle. silver is too ricey. if you really can't afford chromes, get some gunmetal wheels they will be real phat especially on a silver car.

GIOVANNA--Please do not take Rice as any other member. He needs to be ignored, especially since he doesn't know how to spell anything anyways. The reason I'm replying is the Barletta is one of my all-time favorite rims. If you wouldn't mind...please post a picture of your TL! I would love to see those rims on our car! Also...I understand your love for Giovanna...I had the 18" Kuji's for a little while...chrome of course, and I loved them.

I prefer silver, chrome just stands out a little too much for me on the lighter color cars, but on dark cars I think they look fine

Seems like the consensus is that Silver wheels look nice on all cars. But chrome will only look good on the darker colored cars. - Sounds good to me, that is what I was thinking as well.

The chromes do get attention.

I also like chrome on trucks or SUVs as well, no matter what color. Always looks nice.

Thanks for the replies.
