Planning my attack, replacing front shocks....
So after much research on the site (thanks everyone, so much great info.)
I have decided to get the Koni Yellows to replace my front shocks. Im about to hit 80,000 miles so its time.
I am curious about a couple things that I feel are specific to my situation though.
Both rear shocks were replaced at Acure of Brookfield here in town under extended warrantee, Id say roughly 10,000 miles ago. I am unsure what brand OEM shocks the stealership used.
Is it cool to go Koni Yellows up front with whatever the dealer used in the rear?
Does this even matter?
Also, should I replace the top mount bushings too while I'm doing the front shocks? Is there anything else I should be looking to replace while I'm doing this job?
All that said, Aspec springs have been on my radar for a while, mostly for the 1 inch drop. Are Aspecs stiffer than Type S springs?
With the Konis up front and whatever is in rear, would anyone see issue with throwing Aspec springs all around with this setup?
I also have this rash between my toes, Its kind of dry and itch about 50% of the time, maybe athletes foot?

Doing the Koni Yellows up front and leaving the rear oem should be fine. You'll notice the front will be a littler stiffer/performance oriented than the rear, but its fine to run the car that way.
There isn't really any need to replace the front rubber bushings unless they are damaged and need replacement. We have customers who replace their front struts on their 100k+ mile TLs and reuse their bushings without any issues. You can simply install the new shocks and reuse your oem springs as well as long as they aren't damaged or in need of replacement. There isn't anything else that needs replacement as long as there isn't anything else damaged.
Koni Shock - Sport Series - Excelerate Performance - Japanese and European Performance Specialists!!
I believe the ASpec suspension sits a little lower than the stock Type S suspension and is a little stiffer but not much. You would be fine running the ASpec springs on the Konis, and I imagine the rear oem shocks would be fine with them too, especially since they are on the newer side and only have 10k miles on them.
Probably athletes foot, try applying antibacterial ointment once a day. Any over the counter stuff should do.

They say A-Spec springs bundled with Koni Yellows handles amazing. Probably the best setup without going to coilovers.
Getting your hands on A-Spec springs, now that's something you'll have trouble with.
As for bushings, you may upgrade to Type-S bushings as they are firmer.

Yeah I thought finding Aspec springs might be an issue based on what I have read here...
Any leads?
Thanks for that info, I had no luck finding feedback on that particular combo of shocks and springs. Glad to hear its a good setup.
