Opinion Needed! RJ vs Enkei

Okay, so I'm looking to get a new set of rims for 2004 NBP TL so I can keep my winter tires on the stock ones. At the moment, I have narrowed it down to two rims and I am just looking for some opinions. Keep in mind that price is a slight factor and for that fact, I have included prices in Canadian Dollars.

First and preferred set up:
Ron Jon Inspyre 19" Liquid Graphite $1828 shipped
Toyo Proxes 4 $1080 shipped
Cost to get tire mounted onto rims $100 approx.
Total Price: $3008 with taxes (approx.)

Second set up:
Enkei Klamp- Hyper Black: $1000 shipped
Toyo Proxes 4: $1080 shipped
Tire mounting, balancing, and all accessories: $50
Total Price: $2130 which includes shipping, taxes, mounting and all hardware.

What do you guys think?

I wouldn't get the first ones because the price is too high IMHO, and the 2nd ones don't look too good. I would look for something else.
but if I must pick then I say RJ

Yeah, I really want the RJ but the price is not too attractive. Not the biggest fan of the Enkei's but it was as close as I could find to the Inspyre's. I am looking for that sort of design so if anybody has any suggestions as well, please, let me know.

My dad has those Inspyres on his RL, I like them.
I like those TSW's too.

Where are you ordering from? 1010tires.com?

Another Albertan

I think I am going with the TSW.

I will be ordering from 1010tires.com unless anybody else knows of a better place?

Always good to see a fellow Albertan on AZ!

I have seen these on a TL and they look great.

But I think the RJ's would be a better choice.

3k for rims is to much for me, after i get bored with them and need to sell and notice that you won't get half of what you paid for them.

yo I am from edmonton too. There are some more guys on this forum from here as well. try looking at kxwheels.com for wheels too. My friend got some axis shine wheels 240$ cheaper then what they go for at 1010tires.com. It's worth a try and good luck.

For those of you saying you would not get the RJ what is your resoning. Quality? I vote for the TSW. I was thinking of those for my 09 TSX.

Sorry to jump on your side of the fence but I am in the same situation. Days away from ordering rims and have some reservations about the finihs quality of the RJs.

Lou01 you can get better looking wheels for the same price then RJ. YOu're in BC too so the shipping from 1010tires wont be too much and all the prices are in canadian dollars, no shitty dollar exchage and huge shipping or fees.

Myron

I can get the mondello in a 19X8 for $1522 with ALL hardware from a local shop. If I get it from 1010 tires it says all taxes are extra and the sales tax in B.C. is 12%. 7% sales and 5% weed tax. LOL. So add that to 1010 tires price of $1322.97 and the total without hardware is $1481.

Not much difference if any expecially if I need to purchase hub centric rings.

The RJs would cost me $1800 to my door. The nice thing about them is that you don't have to worry about vibrations because of the centre bore size. I've had issues with vibrations and it's a bitch. It's only ever happened once on some Konig wheels with Pirrelli tires but....I still hesitat to buy anything other then RJ for that reason.

for 1800 you can get nicer wheels then RJ is all I am saying. Get aluminum hub rings, I hear those are better and that ppl never had any vibration problems with those.

if you guys need hub rings u can buy the plastic poly-material ones on fleabay for like <$15 shipped. the metal ones do tend to get kind of stuck so you have to pull the wheel off. never had a problem with the plastic ones.

I used the metal ones b4 and put anti-seize on them=no problems.

I now have the plastic ones on my 19" Axis Hiro's and Yoko S-Drive tires and have 0 issues with vibration. The Hiro's were $1500 total.

I would just avoid RJ's and it is b/c of my own personal experience with their quality (I had the Devotions 1pc Forged). For that money there are a lot of other great rims out there with better build quality. If it's between to the two brands... then ANOTHER Enkei then. I had ENkei's on my old Civic, and hit every pothole imaginable. Not a dent.

Maybe an all-Alberta meet this summer? meet halfway in Red Deer?

Look into Enkei RPO3's, Blackura just got a set but they come in silver as well.

I am down for a meet this summer. Red Deer sounds good, a nice day on Silvan Lake would be awesome.

I perfer enkei. Nothing against RJ dont' really know much about em, just know they are mad expensive. for that money i'd rather get HRE. Never have been a fan of TSW think they are shit. I had a few sets on my VW and had nothing but headaches with them. Designs are nice, quality was terrible and that's first hand experience.
