Offset explained
Hi Guys,
I have few questions on 18in Staggered for my 2004 TL Manual Transmission.
I have inherited a set of 18in Axis - Reverb Black with Polished lip wheels. They came off of his 2003 Infiniti G35 coupe.
Front Tire Size: 245/40/R18 and Rear - 285/40/R18-
Front tires are in great shape, rear tires are worn out and I must replace them. But Before I start spending serious money on set of rear tires, I want to make sure that this is indeed OK to do.
I have tried only the rear wheels and they stick out a little bit but I don't really mind; as long as this is not a safety hazzard. I am pretty sure that the fronts will clear the brembo brakes. If this is OK to do, I will get wheel alignment done after the wheels are mounted on the car.
Questions : How off will my speedometer/odometer be with this setup?
Will the front tires touch any body parts of the car when turning?
By putting in 285/40/R18, will the engine have extreme load?
Will these put any additional load on camber or anypart of the car's suspension?
What are the advantages/disadvantages of having this exact setup?
And last but not least - does anybody have 285/40/r18 tires that they would like to sell. I am in NJ.
THere is no modification done on this car.Everything is factory original gear.
Thanks in advance!!
