OEM Strut Part Number Mystery
I'm currently in the market for a 3G TL, Base model. Looked at a pristine 08 recently. Unfortunately, I got to it too late, and the owner just sold it. In talking to the owner, he said he had bought the car new. The only modification, after-market struts and springs. He further advised, he still had the OEM strut and spring assemblies, with less than 1K miles on them, if I was interested. Of course, I was interested. In looking at the parts, I found that the part number, 52610-SEP-A08, shown on the two rear assemblies, matched, and are correct for this car. The part numbers, on the front assemblies, 51601-SEP-A31, and 51602-SEP-A08, DID NOT Match! In checking the numbers, via Delray Acura OEM parts, I found that part # 51601-SEP-A31, Right Front, is the correct application for a 2008 Base model TL. However, part # 51602-SEP-A08 Left Front, lists it's application for the 2004-2005-2006 Base model TL. My QUESTION IS: Would Honda Manufacturing, have built this car, with two distinctly different front strut part numbers? I realize, the 2004-2008 3G models, are the same car, but I don't want to invest in these strut assemblies, if the specifications, are not identical. I would greatly appreciate anyone, who could shed some light on this issue.

That's interesting.
I remember reading how they made the 07/08 base suspension softer than the 04-06 base.
With all 4 on I would doubt you'd feel a difference though.
As to why there is a single part from 04-06, that remains a mystery - maybe someone at the assembly plant messed up?
