I have an 04 Base TL (non brembo) wiht stock suspension.

It has 80k on the clock.

I had the stock 17" rims on it for as long as I've owned the car.

I just bought 18x8.5 Aspec rims with Toyo 245/40/18 tires.

Once I installed them and test drove it, everytime I go over a bump there is a little "ping/small knock" noise coming from the passenger side...

I don't know if it's coming from front or rear yet, but when I punch the sidewall of the front passenger tire, it make a weird ping noise...could a belt inside the tire be messed up and causing this or do you think it's more suspension related?

I don't see any damage to the rims at all, and the tires visibly look perfect. I don't think I had the noise with the stock 17s but I am going to swap them out and drive around to see if I hear it...

Has anyone ever had noise due to a bad belt inside the tire?

I have the same noise from the rear passenger side, I can only hear it when I have the window down and hit a very tiny bump. I hope its nothing major.

jack up the car and shake the wheel to be sure its not a lower control arm bushing / endlink or balljoint.
