Nitto Motivo or Michelin Pilot Sport Plus A/S
Just wondering how the Nitto Motivos compare to the Michelin Pilot A/S, which is what I currently have on a '07 TL-S.
I am mostly looking for a quiet tire with nice tight steering response (stiff sidewall).
It's between these two and possibly the Bridgestone 970AS. What do you guys think? TIA.

I too was looking at the nitto motivos cuz they are cheap. But I also heard good things about the Bridgestone 970AS

i am currently running nitto motivos and i really like them. great dry and wet performance and they feel a bit stiffer than the kumho ecsta 4x tires i was running with my last set of wheels (type s waffles). for their price point and advertised longevity you can't beat the motivos

Having just replaced the Michelin tires for the Bridgestones, I actually prefer the Michelins. They we so much more smooth and quiet and offered great all around handling. I'm already finding the Bridgestones to be noisy (size 235/40-18). We've seen others (myself included) complain that the Michelins won't last and they start falling apart on the edges, but man they are great while they last.

I needed to update my take on the Bridgestones for anybody reading this post in the future. It turns out the noisiness I heard was from a failing rear bearing. I fixed that last night and all is right in the world. Unfortunately, I can't really give an opinion about which is noisier (Michelin or Bridgestone) because it's been a while since I had these installed, but nobody should fear that the Bridgestones are loud based on my comments above.

Sockr1. What size did you get? The store manager was telling me the size that I have(255-40-17) and type of tires they are (high performance) are the cause of the problem. I think he was BSing me. Flat spots from parking overnight in the summer doesn't sound normal to me.

tire rack article...one part mentions about the wider tires and possible flatspotting
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=42
also make sure your tires are inflated to the correct pressure (over is better than under inflated)

Thank you for that very informative link Sockr1.
I'm running 35/32 cold psi right now. I'm going to pump up a couple of psi to see how they do. Hopefully this won't get any worse when fall/winter comes around when the tempurature shift around here is very big.
