Nitto Motivo, Cooper Zeon RS3-A or Kumho Ecsta

Ok... Ive finally narrowed it down to 3...

Motivo OTD price of $595 at Tire Kingdom
Cooper Zeon $520
Kumho Ecsta also $520

Im looking for a good mid range tire with great handling, little road noise, comfort & good tread wear.

not to mention Im an instinctive bargain shopper so def want the best bang for my buck!!!!

so what do you think?? Suggestions??

No to Zeon RS3 if you want "little road noise" on highways. I have the Zeon RS3, and it was a mistake. According to the mechanic, it screws with the alignment because of its pattern, "as an Acura lover, you shouldn't have gotten these economic tires, although you still have great treading for 1.5 years."
I asked, "what do you recommend"
He said "Continental, Bridgestone, anything performance"
I said, "Do you carry continential, bridgstone?"
He said "No. Get it online and we'll install it for you!"

-Truth to his 'economic tires statement'? No clue.

What about the Nitto NT555 $488 shipped.

Or the Kuhmo for $452 shipped?

Is the NT 555 better than the Motivo? The guy at Tire Kindom said bc of the Motivo"s aggressive treadwear that noise and cupping may be a prob...

I did a comparision on Tire rack and narrowed it down to Ecsta 4x, conti dws, yoko ascend or bridgestone pole postion.... tire rack doesn't carry the cooper or nitto so kind of hard to compare

Whats the difference in directional vs nondirectional tire???

i posted last night but not sure why it didn't post up.
i ran the kumho ecsta 4x on my last set of wheels (OEM) and am currently running the motivos on my aftermarket wheels. both are great sets of tires and you won't go wrong. i would recommend the motivos over the kumhos because they have a slightly stiffer sidewall and you can't beat the projected tread life.

both are great and recommended, i did a lot of research on both before i bought them and everyone had good things to say. i really like my current motivos. member deathmetal also ran the motivos and loved them

I didn't even look if Ecsta ASX's were available in the stock size but they are in 255/40/17, I know a lot of people that have had good luck with them (one of the few options available in the stock size on my Impala 255/50/17). Basically the same price as the 4X.

I've had nothing but Kuhmos on my wheels since I got them, no problems whatsoever. Excellent tread life and great in every driving conditions.

basically, unless you're gonna race in rain,

directional : you can't rotate tires from left to right
nondirectional : you can rotate tires normally

If you want motivo, check out toyo proxes 4 PLUS.

it's not the proxes 4. it's proxes 4 PLUS that looks pretty much like motivo.

same company same design... i'm gonna assume same compound.

also in the market for a set of tires very soon.

bullcrap lol

I had the same experience. It might have to do with the fact that it snows every decade where I live, but the tire kingdom guys were crazy about recommending summer tires when I was looking for a set of all seasons that does well in rain.

Lol...super lazy lately. The Varrstoen's are also in the basement and I put the Racing Harts back on.

I definitely like the Motivos better than the DW. Better in the rain... stickier on dry surface and better ride comfort.

^Is the steering/handling pretty tight and responsive on the Motivos compared to the DWs? Thanks!

^ I feel like it is.

Past 3 sets of tires have been Invo, DW, Motivo. I felt the Invo and DW are an equal tire and the Motivo is slightly better.

went with the motivos and drove 1400 miles thru rain, mountains... you name it & I must say Im disappointed in the performance. They feel more like a touring tire than performance. They float rather than grip the road....

interesting............. I'm not judging your ability to feel tires but since this is the first negative motivo review, are you sure they're broken in to full strength???

I've put about 12K on my Motivos and feel quite the opposite. I've driven through the twisties on roads in the Adirondack Mountains through downpours where people were pulled off to the side of the road. Not once did I question the grip. Never felt floaty to me either. Weird.

Im comparing them to the Bridgestones that were on my car...Im hoping they aren't broken in yet but I have found other reviews that have said the same. Also, Im a woman... not a dude.. last but not least, I am a car enthusiast. I am def a spirited driver & love a car/tires that handles the road. I drive at the local strip & in Atl... so I do have a clue.
