as nice as my car looks being low:

i think im going to take the megans off the car and go back to stock height.

i dont like having to drive slow up steep driveways, and avoiding my curb in the garage every day..and going slow over speedbumps and potholes...

i think my car could still have everything in performance and looks and not be lowered any more..what do u guys think?

also,i think im going to try to pick up a 2010 camaro...since my dad has the challenger i dont know if i really want to have one too,but its either the camaro or challenger for me.

I put Eibach Pro-Kit Springs on my '07 TLS and loved the look, but it wasn't practical since steep driveways were a problem had to be careful of all the curbs in front when parking (not that I pull up that far). I had them removed and went back to the stock springs. Now that I put on some Ebony A-spec wheels and look at the car, I'm back to wanting the car lowered again even if I have to deal with the problems associated with it. I am now looking at installing the A-spec suspension only which would lower it about 1" again. Still contemplating what to do.

i have a feeling i will end up in your shoes but at the same time im getting tired of driving low..

i have already scraped my aspec lip after only having it 1 week...
parking in my garage only leaves about 6 inches from the bumper to garage door...so i pretty much hit my front lip on the curb in my garage every time i park just so i can get in far enough to close the door..

If that happens then just park head out. That should alleviate any scraping problems and you can get as close as possible if you have the rearview monitor.

meh, backing into my driveway is a bitch, its hella steep..and my wife insists on parking her pos in the garage so i dont have much room on the sides.

like i said, either a challenger or camaro is next, depending on how much i can dump to get out of the negative on this car. i owe 37$K on this car so im like 19K upside down.

The problem with that is there is no point in having coilovers if I'm not going to be low.

oh man, i know how u feel. earlier today i just finished up uninstalling my tein ss and installed the 6mt a-spec suspension on my '05 auto. after my commute got twice as long after thanksgiving i didn't want to ride dropped that hard around rough la streets and the 405 around west la is choppy as hell. i feel like i wimped out, but the a-spec suspension does ride pretty awesome and it was designed by the dude who did the suspension for the nsx.

But its the height I have a prob with. Not the quality.

Should just consider some springs that give a 1" drop like eibach, or comptech springs.

Agreed....best of both worlds. Lower stance and ride height....but not in the weeds.

The Challenger is sweet but I don't see how it's more practical than your TL.

the challenger is fun to drive. Its smooth and tight in corners. Getting my son in and out of the back seat isn't so bad and the trunk is about the same size as the tl. I thought about going to springs but it sure is sweet to adjust the stiffness. I over paid for my tl cause I owed so much on my Benz at trade in. I paid 44$k for my tl out the door.

If I remember correctly, isn't your car slammed?

Just raise it up and inch and see how that drives. I'm dropped on Eibach Pro springs (1") and I feel like a monster truck. I think I barely scraped my front lip once in downtown Seattle with 5 people in my car on a steep hill in a parking garage. I'm ordering Tein SS coilovers though to drop it some more.

like i said...i like the look of my car so i dont want to raise it cause then it would be pointless to be on coilovers that cost a grand...i guess its just a matter of if im willing to deal with the LOOK of my car at stock height.

How are those coilovers holding up for you anyway? I'm thinking about going with them instead of the Tein SS's. Definitely seem to be getting much more for the money but don't they run more aggressive spring rates than Tein SS's?

That curb in ur garage just need ramps infront of it... They sell it for race cars so you can drive the car on them and use a basic floor jack

Sigh... I told you to lower the car more and buy those ramps... try aspec drop...

lol i know stillhere you have been riding my ass about those ramps.

i thought about aspec.. but i eventually want 20s and i will need something to get close to the tire like i have now cause it will def look like a 4x4 then..

the megans are great,i love the adjustability and adjusment capabilities.i love that u can adjust the height no matter how low or high u adjust it and u dont touch the spring tension or shock height...so no matter how high or low u go,its the same feel of the ride as before. (depending on the dampening u set it at)

also they are not bouncy what so ever

Good to hear. No little annoyances such as squeaks or anything? I know a lot of the Tein SS are known for squeaking when going over bumps. Personally, I think the Megans are clearly a much better coilover and value (pre-loaded spring, pillow ball mounts, 32-way damper adjustment, etc.) but I just wonder how their long term quality is.

well i dont have rattles..but i did develop ONE squeek somewhere in the rear a couple months of being lowered and driving it on stiff setting. it dosent squeek all the time so its not annoying, but its an interior thing,i think somethings rubbing something in the rear deck.

Well I ordered the Megan Coilovers. Hopefully I can get them by the end of this week so I can install them on the weekend. I'm guessing a 16 damper setting will be good for all around. Might try 17 or 18 on the rears.

Looking forward to getting these.

I use 25 for daily driving and 12 for agressive/freeway.

I wish the Megans had some sort of EDFC, lol. So 25's are a good setting for daily driving huh? I guess I'll just have to mess with them and find a good compromise. I am shooting for comfort but I don't like that "floaty" feeling when it's too soft. Especially sucks here in Seattle on the freeway where we have these metal connecting pieces every 300-400ft. Car will not stop bouncing if it's too soft...

How do you adjust the rear damper settings? I noticed in your other thread you had some extenders or something.

1. raise the megans
2. aspec suspension

sometimes i get tired of driving the lowered car too (2.5years with tsx & 1.5years with tl)... but for me aesthetics > practicality

32 is floaty. 25 is soft but tight and not bouncy. Just read through my other threads. It explains the knob extenders I have on my car. I have them on the front and back.
