New Tires

Before you guys flame me for not using the "Search Bar", I have. Extensively. And have not come to the conclusion that I need. I am stuck between my own experience with the Michelin Pilot AS Plus (i believe)- the tires need to be replaced at 15K. If you go and read reviews on Michelin's website this tread ware issue has happened all across the country on all different types of vehicles, With that being said, Tiretrack has the new Pilot Sport AS3 + rated as if they were made with God's nectar so I am struggling to figure out which tires I want to put on the TL which is now owned by my sister (I bought a 2014 AWD). I am considering the DWS Conti 06's but have hear the sidewalls are mushy and inhibits performance during turns, I have heard the BFGoodrich G-Force Sport Comp-2 are great but user reviews on Tiretrack are terrible. Personally, whenever I am stuck in these types of situations (website reviews vs. user reviews) I go with what users are saying because their opinion is non-biased.

Has anyone had the new Pilot AS3 +'s on a TL for more than 10-15K miles and can tell me if the tire is holding up? Michelin has offered a 60%( should be 100% since they discontinued their POS sport AS sport tire) prorated warranty deal since my AS +'s are zapped at 15K miles but I don't want to just put another POS tire on the car if I don't have to. My sister drives spirited enough that I want the performance in all conditions along with tread life if at all possible.

Sorry can't comment on the Michelins, but I'm running the dws06 and I drive very spirited and the sidewalls are fine. They were greatly stiffened from the dws to the dws06 so she should be ok. These are some of the best tires ive had...they grip extremely well in dry and wet and take curves awesome. Plus they have a decent tread life for my DD and are in the lower end of weight for more performance

Really, I just puchased the DWS-06's a couple months ago and I think the sidewalls are soft and dont feel good in the corners at all, however that is my only complaint with them.

^ See this is what I have heard. I am trying to gauge how big of a deal that is going to be and might go with the Conti's. Basically, the AS3 +'s have incredible reviews both from Tiretrack and people who have purchased them but the previous Michelin's I had also had great reviews - people just didn't have them long enough yet to figure out the tread ware was a joke despite the 45,000 mile warranty (which Michelin predictably has squeaked out of).

tire pressure plays a big part too. i run about 300 hp to the wheels and i take corners very fast when i want to, not once have i had any soft sidewall feeling. i would buy the dws06 again in a heartbeat

YMMV

sounds like you want the michelin so just go with the michelin haha. it's a good tire for sure. if tread goes out early, get it prorated again and get new tires.

Take a look at the Bridgestone Potenza RE970A/S Pole Positions-- they lasted over 40K miles, including a number of autocross runs, on my TL. They replaced Yokohama Advan S.4s, which also lasted over 40K miles, but were not as sticky or as quiet at the end as the RE970s. The Advan S.4s were stickier than the OEM Michelin MXM4s.

Because I have the A-specs I run them according to those specs and even a tad higher. I guess too it depends what tire you came from before. I had Hankook tires before and the sidewalls were a lot stiffer in comparison. I'm thinking if I had the continentals from the beginning I wouldn't know any better.

The other day I thought my front tire was low on air because of the squat, turned out air pressure was fine, but the weight of the engine

Can anyone confirm if the dws06 rides firmer or softer than the s-04? Tire rack says they ride softer and handles the bumps better..
