New rims... what should I get? (lots of pictures!)
Alright so I have a set of Aspec rims that need to be refinished. Haven't decided if I want to sell them and start fresh... or keep them. If I keep them, I want to black-chrome them. I think it'll compliment my NBP much better than the gun metal color. Since the rims have no actual defects (bends, curbage etc), this should work nicely.
Black chrome would look something like this (finish-wise)
I have some other rims in mind, if I do choose to buy new. Heres my list
RonJon Legend GTs
5Zigen SC3000

notice you like that red crap. I like Enkei FD-05 1 and 2. check out weight for all of them as well. I put new wheels on my ride and it seems to be slower now. then again I'm on 20's LOL

^ ballin, what do you mean?
Alright well it seems like the 5Zigen'ss and the Tenzo's are the popular rims.
This is the other color for the SC3000s

I like the ring/lip because it breaks the black on black... The LF-10s might be too murdered out...

My opinion is keep the ASpecs but if you really want to switch it up, the Tenzo R's are best looking with the concave face. SC3000 are nice, but I don't know about 7.5" widths, I think 8's are as low as I would go. Just my
Are you only considering 18's, or 19's as well?

^ Only 18s... and yeah, I want 8" or 8.5" widths, ideally.
This is what happened to my ASpecs... go to post 51

Would you keep them? I'm on the fence...

I would ask some questions about the fitment on the Tenzo's. I was looking at these when I originally started wheel hunting. I checked other forums to see picks of them on other cars. The problem I found was that the pictures they show in the add don't match up to how they look on the car. It seems like they are much flatter on a fwd car. The offset would have to be very aggressive to achieve the same look.

Tenzo R type-m would be my 1st choice and the RonJons Legends would be my 2nd choice. I really like how the spokes go all the way out to the edge of the Tenzo wheels. Sort of reminds me of how the Volk Progressive ME's look like.

I don't see what the draw is to black wheels. Can someone explain? Is it a weight thing? I'm not saying bright chrome is the best either. If I had to choose I would most def go w/ the A-specs and black chrome as its not overtly flashy. If I ever want black rims I'll just forgoe cleaning my wheels for a month.
