New rims... what should I get? (lots of pictures!)

Alright so I have a set of Aspec rims that need to be refinished. Haven't decided if I want to sell them and start fresh... or keep them. If I keep them, I want to black-chrome them. I think it'll compliment my NBP much better than the gun metal color. Since the rims have no actual defects (bends, curbage etc), this should work nicely.

Black chrome would look something like this (finish-wise)

I have some other rims in mind, if I do choose to buy new. Heres my list

RonJon Legend GTs

5Zigen SC3000

Drag DR-31

Azul Speedmesh

Enkei LF-10

Enkei FD-05

Konig Zero

Tenzo R Type M

Five Axis Five:AD (not sure if these are out yet)

Any and all input is welcome!

I like:
-5Zigen SC3000
-Konig Zero
-Tenzo R Type M

The last ones are kinda funky but if you do it right you could pull them off like a straightup69playapimp.

I like the azul's, the sc3000's, and the tenzo's... You should get whatever is cheapest though, so you can give me a better deal on the A specs.... lol!

^ ballin, what do you mean?

Alright well it seems like the 5Zigen'ss and the Tenzo's are the popular rims.

This is the other color for the SC3000s

5Zigen SC3000
<27.95lb
18x7.5

Tenzo R Type M
25lb (not confirmed)
18x8

Enkei LF-10 (black)
26.5lb (not confirmed)
18x8
18x9

Konig Zero
Weight ?
18x8

I like the ring/lip because it breaks the black on black... The LF-10s might be too murdered out...

My opinion is keep the ASpecs but if you really want to switch it up, the Tenzo R's are best looking with the concave face. SC3000 are nice, but I don't know about 7.5" widths, I think 8's are as low as I would go. Just my Are you only considering 18's, or 19's as well?

^ Only 18s... and yeah, I want 8" or 8.5" widths, ideally.

This is what happened to my ASpecs... go to post 51
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...=183572&page=2

Would you keep them? I'm on the fence...

Keep the A-specs and refinish them "time attack" style.

the tenzo type m's are the best looking of the bunch imo, look even better in real life. according the tenzo rep at hot import nights, the 19's weigh around 27-28 pounds so even the 18's will not be a really light wheel.

I would ask some questions about the fitment on the Tenzo's. I was looking at these when I originally started wheel hunting. I checked other forums to see picks of them on other cars. The problem I found was that the pictures they show in the add don't match up to how they look on the car. It seems like they are much flatter on a fwd car. The offset would have to be very aggressive to achieve the same look.

Tenzo R type-m would be my 1st choice and the RonJons Legends would be my 2nd choice. I really like how the spokes go all the way out to the edge of the Tenzo wheels. Sort of reminds me of how the Volk Progressive ME's look like.

I think I'm going to have to agree with you... Tenzos #1, RJs #2.

However, I think my Aspecs are being taken care of by the shop that f'd them up... so

Still thinking about these though.

The last wheel looks like you took it off adam west's bat mobile. Personally I like the Enkei FD-05.

I don't see what the draw is to black wheels. Can someone explain? Is it a weight thing? I'm not saying bright chrome is the best either. If I had to choose I would most def go w/ the A-specs and black chrome as its not overtly flashy. If I ever want black rims I'll just forgoe cleaning my wheels for a month.
