first i would go 225/55. it is closer to the factory tire size. 2nd what are you looking for, a all season or a dedicated summer tire?

Z rated tires :

Super Duper but no tread life :

Bridgestone S03

Super but longer tread life :

Firestone SZ50
Toyo T1S
Dunlop SP9000

If you're in montreal, why not use your 16's for winter and get some 18's for summer?

i have the good year F1GSD3 got them from the tire rack for 134 each and they are simply awsome. they have a higher tread ware than the SO3 and the pilot sport. Very Very good in the dry and even better in the rain.

Pilot sports A/S I've had them over a year and I wish I got them sooner!

The 2 best tires that walk the earth are the Michelin Pilot Sport and the Bridgestone Potenza S-03. But they cost a fortune and dont last long.

The other american branded Z rated tires i personally dont care for, but good year and dunlop are supposed to be good

I would personally recommend the Kumho Supra 712 or the Nitto 555, out of all the american tires (minus the sport and s-03) these two beat them all in every aspect... Kumhos are fantastic in the rain and all around great performance and the Nittos have a little larger footprint for extra dry traction...

The kumho is very inexpensive, like $75 a tire. the Nittos are a little more...

With wider size, be prepared to take a hit on fuel economy.
