Need Help Quick

I bent 4 rims and am going to upgrade, I don't know a damn thing about tires though, and need help fast.

I have a TL-s and want to upgrade to Italias5 18x7.5 rims and 225/45/18's

One guy on the site has the same set up, and has a +50 offset (with comptech Drop). I called tire rack, they said that I can use this set up, they said thetires and rims are already offset, is this true? or wil the installer need to do somehting with springs? Do I need a "comptech Drop" what is that? and where do I get it ? how much does it cost to have this instlled?

please help I need to know by the end of the day!!!!

You should stick to 225/40 18s. 225/45 are hard to get. Lots more choices with 40 series.

18.7.5 with a +50 offset is perfect. "Comptech drop" as you put it refers to lowering the car with aftermarket spings, Comptech being one. You will probably want to go with aftermarket springs once you get the wheels. Notice how the car has a huge wheel gap with your OEM wheels? Wait till you put on the new ones.

So where in South Jersey are you? I'm in Mt Laurel.

Good luck

Neil

This brings up a question about the speedometer being off..

with 40 series, your actual speed will be slower than what it shows on the speedometer right??

Does your milage get calculated by the speed or does it simply go by the rpm??

Bent 4 rims in the following fashion... driving up I-76 (jersey side) before it merges with 42. the road is divided by a square 6-inch concrete curb section. Someone cut me off BAD! would have side swiped the hell out of me, I swerved to the right (toward the curb, I didn't see the curb as you wouldn't expect it to be in what appears to be a continuous highway) and as one would expect I ran over the curb at 70 mph!!!! thus bending the rims, and blowing out two tires.

NEXT, do you go through CLASSIC auto? I am so angry with them right now, I will never take my car there again. They have apparently been lying to me about the rims/tires/cost for repair. This is the second personal problem i have had with them. A friend of my fathers stopped going there b/c they were "ripping him off" I don't think I will see that place ever again after this ordeal.

BTW, I live in woodstown (exit 2 off NJTP as we NJ-ians refer to ourselves)

I bought the car at Princeton Porsche/Acura, but I get it serviced at Marty Sussman in Maple Shade.

What a coincidence, I play golf at Town and Country in Woodstown almost every weekend in the Spring, Summer and Fall. Look for my car in the parking lot some time.
