Need help picking out a Suspension :-(
Sup everyone.... I need help picking out a nice suspension for my 04 TL. What do you guys recommend. If I can keep it under $1,000 than that would be Great! :-)
P.S. I am looking for the best ride also a Great look. I am not trying to slam the car to the ground.

Economic: Springs & Struts. Options, almost endless: Eibach, Teins, etc. Shocks: KYB, Tokico. More money: Coilovers. Most people love it!! Do a search, there are 100s of threads. Good luck and welcome!

My impression from also doing research is any coil over setup is going to give you a harsh ride. More harsh than any four door sedan should be and you will probably not like it. From what you said to keep a good ride you will probably want to just swap in a set of lowering springs with stock shocks. This is also the cheapest method to so thats a plus. I have done a lot of reasearch on springs I have come up with the H&R sports or Tein H Tech's. Either can be had for $230 shipped and they give you a great stance that isnt slammed. The ride will likely be a little stiffer than stock but I dont think there is a way around that when going with an aftermarket spring.
Hope this helps.

I went with a spring/shock combo and the ride quality hasn't changed much at all. I am the only one who can actually notice the change. The handling is greatly improved also. I got progress springs and tokico shocks (for accord) and it was all under 600$ CDN. But if I had 1000$ I'd go with Function/Form V2 coilovers (read some good review about those)

I'm running H&R sports (1.4'' drop) right now. Ride isn't too harsh in my opinion but others may disagree. Getting koni yellows with the springs would probably help absorb some of the roughness on bad roads. Ride feels perfectly smooth on good roads. I saw a deal for tokio yellows + h&r sports (not on azine) about a year ago for under $800, might want to see if it's still going on! Goodluck!

Also, the sagging in rear issue....no clue where you came up with that. The car sits where the springs were designed for it to sit. The H&R sports and Tein H Techs actually give the car a slight forward rake.

you should get the proper length shocks for the springs. find out what the travel on the stock shocks are, they may be ok. If they are not the proper size it will not ride like it is intended to and may bottom out the shocks. When I lifted the jeep 5 inches i didn't use stock shocks because it would have torn the piston out of the cylinder and made the ride harsh. There is a reason they make different length shocks, they have a sweet spot in their travel for the correct length spring. Some people don't care about this but i would make sure the shocks are correct length.

^^^ yup you are correct. I will say though that with only the mild drop that the OP is looking to get (not even 1.5") I am pretty sure the stock shocks will be perfectly fine for those. Now some of the kits that drop 2"+ then yes I dont think its gonna work and if it did the ride will be horrible.

I recently bought an 04 tl which already had tien s techs and kyb gr2's installed and i was not happy with the ride quality so today I installed H&R sport springs with tokico hp shocks and i can tell you it rides very close to stock. The kyb gr2s are an oem replacement and didnt seem to dampen well with the lowering springs. The fact that one of the rears was missing the bump stop probably didnt help either....
Anyways, now the ride is smooth and not jarring at all, just slightly stiffer. The average person would not even notice the difference, but when you are driving it you can definately feel the performance side of it when your taking turns. I think its actually smoother than my buddys honda s2000's stock suspension. the drop is just enough to get rid of the fender gap although right now the front still looks a bit higher, but im pretty sure the springs just need to settle.
Also, make sure you order new bumpstops to go with the new suspension cuz mine were pretty worn.
BTW if you want even smoother ride you can go with eibach pro kit but its only a 1" drop...

Im running tein basics and they ride very close to stock. Before i had hfp struts and tein stech springs and they were much smoother then stock. A guy i knew installed tein htecs on hfp struts and it rides very well. The look f the rear being lower than the front will always be there if you want your car to be level. Otherwise coilovers are the way to go. Ill be selling my tein basics in a few weeks if your interested.

just get the neuspeed supercup kit and call it a day......set it to full soft for the first 500 miles and adjust it from there. full soft on this setup is softer than stock. mite be a lil bouncy but your comfort will DEFINTELY be there....do it!
oh yea, u can get it for $699 shipped (make sure you get the "sport" springs with the purchase as i believe they come standard with race springs and those are stiff as shit!). someone is selling this same kit for $650 in the blackmarket.

agree. I have this setup and its nice. allows for full adjustment of ride height as well as shock dampening. It's coilover-esque per say but in order to get actual coilovers you have to pay.
no matter what set up you go with be sure to get aftermarket struts. changing out the shocks if you blow them will end up costing you much more money, especially if you are paying someone to do the labor. tokico's can be had for 250 shipped.
the supercup kit in the BM has race springs btw.
