Moving up to 19's and have questions.

My EL 42's are out of here and I'm putting on Toyo Proxes 4's. I priced a set on edgeracing.com and wanted some questions answered before I place the order.
I want to go with 19's and put on Falken Torque 5 rims in Gunmetal. I've seen a few postings with 19's and the car looked like it was on stilts. Will the 19's require a drop to look correct, or do you just use a different tire ratio to fill in the wheel well and accept the speedo will be off? I don't mind doing the TEIN Springs, but would rather avoid the Coilover's since they are more $$ than I want to put out.

Thanks in advance for any help.

lowering it is a must IMO, u cant get a different tire ratio that will fill it in enough and that will throw your speedo off. Coilovers are the best way to go, but springs are still good

So without lowering it will look like some of the others on the forum that appear to be jacked up in the air?

If your going to do it you should do it right!!! With 19's you should lower the car otherwise your TL will look jacked up!! If your spending thousands for your new shoes...whats another few hundred bucks!!!

That's the reason for my post...so I can do it right. I don't mind dropping the cash for lowering the car. I just don't need a $1000 dollar coilover kit when springs can give me the same look. Heck, it's not like I need to firm up the suspension to sit in bumper to bumper Atlanta traffic.

If $$ is not an issue for you I would go coilover. So you can adjust the height when you need to. Slam the car in the summer time and jack up the car in the winter.Gives you the flexiblitly you need. I know the fact that this has happen to alot of ppl such as myself too, "if you lower the car with just springs and few months later you are not satify with the lower height you can't do anything unless you get some coilovers where you can lower to your liking". TEIN seems to be the top coilover available for our car right now and we have a great handfull of members here with them with satisfaction. So I would go coilovers dude!
