Mother f###ing BLAAAAAAAAH!

Ok, so I went thru the headache of trying replace my tire b/c i messed up the sidewall on my front passenger trying to spin out of the snow ditch.

I finally get 4 brand new tires and everything is good and well, but i go out today and I have a mother-focking buble on that same tire!!! I cant focking believe this!!!

I dont know if it's a defect in the tire or if I hit a bad pothole, but geesus!!!

Now I have to contact Tirerack to see if they will replace it or if I have to pay for a brand new tire. It's only a few weeks old........AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Sumitomo HTR+

I called up tirerack and they said damage like that is probably from a road hazzard (pothole). They dont cover their tires for anything like that (neither does the manuf.).

They did offer to sell me the same tire at 50% off though so I went that route since I did hit a focking pothole last week. They are everywhere since the last snow storm.

I just pray that the rim is not bent or anything. Any visible way to tell???

You can take it to a shop and let them balance it again. When it's on the machine spinning, you can see if the rim is going side to side meaning it's bent. If it's cracked, you will loose air on a regular basis. If you have stockers, those are pretty hard to bent unless you hit a wheel stop at 30 mph.

Gotta hate those potholes.
The first thing that would bend is the lip of the wheel. If the lip looks good chances are the wheel is ok. But you'll soon find out once you get the new tire mounted and balanced. What size tires did you get?

I just got a set of HTR+'s for the IS300...Aside from your pothole hit, How do you like them so far? I was forced to get a new set after my brother hit a pothole and blew two tires (stock-Bridgestone Potenze RE92). For the price of 2 Potenza's, I spent a little more and got a full set, plus the HTR+'s are rated #2, just behind the Pilot Sport A/S(got those on my GS) in the ultra high performing A/S tires.

I was going to get the 225's for my TL, but they wouldnt have any in stock for a week. I couldnt wait that long, so I just stuck with the stock 215's.

It handles pretty well and grips better than the stock Michelins (IMO). Hard to believe that the Mich cost so much, but are a suck ass tire.

i just changed back to stock wheels, and those michelins do suck, now i can't take any turns going 35 km/h, whereas i could easily have taken that same turn at 50-60 with my falkens ziex 512. However, the ride now is smoother and car accels faster, haha
