Moog Sway bar end links? Anyone have experience with these on a TL?

My endlinks need replacement and I ordered Moog endlinks this past weekend. Anyone install these on a TL?

Any special instructions? Do I need bushings? Do I need to grease them?

If I need bushings, where do I get them from?

If I need to grease it, then with what and how?!

Thanks!

Here's a link on what I bought:

Moog makes a quality product and they probably will have grease fittings so you can use chassis grease for lubrication. Never changed them on a TL, but they will be just a remove and replace. Get them tight, so you will need a wrench on the inner nut to keep the joint from turning.

One other item to make the replacement easier. Put the car on ramps as you don't want to do the change with the suspension unloaded, meaning it should be at ride height.

Thanks for the info. One question, how do you grease the endlinks?

I know I am asking stupid questions, but I've never messed with an endlink before...

And NO bushings? Just put the new endlink in, and the swaybar, and nut?

No stupid questions, this is how the Forum is to be used.
A grease gun. Most lube centers will have them as some cars do have zerk fittings from the factory. If you're doing it yourself they make hand grease guns with replaceable cartridges. Yup, just unbolt (2 bolts each side), remove, then install. You'll see when you get the units.

If you have someone change the oil/filter for you, mention to them that you have end links that need to be greased, ass they aren't factory, they won't look for them.

One item I wanted to mention is if there is no way to remove the links with the wheel/tire on the car, put the car on ramps, then jack under the lower control arm on one side, remove that wheel/tire then you'll have space to work. You'll see that you don't want the suspension hanging down as that will exert great pressure on the end links.

Lots of guys have the MOOG OE replacement end-links on the 2G TL/TL-S. Same item for the 3G.

The come with a grease fitting to grease the "ball socket" of the new end-link. Beefier than the stock end-links.

I've hestitated installing them on the 3G because of the Sway Bar Bushing Bracket to SubFrame failures (as far as I know there have only been a few and they all run after market RSB's). My concern is that a stronger end-link will put more stress on an already weak mounting point.

not a bad price for a factory replacement

and its a 12mm wrench on the nut and an L key to hold the bushing as you turn the wrench to tighten

Do the stock ones really flex?

- at the "joints" in the end-link, I'd guess yes; it looks designed to flex (same as the MOOG). The "bar" of the end-link, maybe not so much.

Still, it seems risky to me to put an apparently stronger part into a system with a weak spot further up the line.

Just intuition/speculation on my part.
