Well when I bought the car I said it was only gonna be a DD and I was just going to do simple stuff.... Ive done a bit of little mods but its time for a new look
That being said I'm looking for some new wheels. When the tires bit the dust in the rear I ended up putting on my Enkei RPF1s on that I had on my s2000 and the performance benefit from them was unreal. They are 17 x 9 +45 with hankook ventus v12 255 40r 17. They may have 25% left on the tires but with low milage probably 25k at most. (s2000 had aggressive alignment)
I'm ready to get some 18's and go for a more flush look so been doing research on the tein SAs as well. I really like the full polished varrstoen es2 and for the price they seem to be nice wheels with good reviews. This car gets driven a lot so name brand Volks don't seem like a good option being they are near half the value of the car.
So basically the moral of this is, does the TL family usually have any desire for 17inch wheels? I can see someone using them for performance benefit considering they are 15lbs per wheel but they just look so small on our cars. So would it be worth trying to trade for another member on here or sell or should I try selling on an s2000 forum? I don't want to make a post looking to trade for 18s and look like a fool lol
100% would rock small RPF1s over the perfect sized Varrstoen.
They look SIIIIIICK with beefy tires. I forget who was running that setup, it's still my favorite shoes I've seen on the 'zine. I just didn't have the bank for the 17x9.5s.
I've had them on for about 5 months and just the design of the wheel makes it look like there is 15 inch wheels on it plus they are black so the lip just looks like a fat tire at a distance. I've thought about powder coating them but I've heard the way they are casted, it can take away some of their strength during the hearing process. I don't know.
They are so lightweight that it's noticeably quicker and get better fuel economy but I just think they look goofy. Maybe a good drop would help.
I figured now is the time to make a decision before I buy new tires
I really just don't like the black wheels look anymore

i think 18s look best on the TL, but i know people have a bias towards these specific wheels. i've never been a fan personally but that's my own taste.
i agree black wheels went out of style in the early 2000s haha. get some 18s with some contrast on there!
going back to your question, if you put these up for sale there will be interest
I liked these wheels a lot better on my s2000 especially the improvement from 16's with much larger tire for around the same weight but even then I didn't care for the black. It looked good in people's edited pictures because you could see the detail of them but at a distance they just looked like everyone else that has black wheels. I do like the enkeis in the SBC color but at the time I didn't know that existed.
I'm gonna list these for trade on here and get someone to post them on the TL Louisville Facebook page hopefully someone local will be interested since I only have these wheels to drive on so shipping isn't an option.
