Missing a lug nut.

I was taking a look at my front passenger rim, and I saw that I am missing a lug nut. I have no idea how long it's been and how it went missing, but now I'm really paranoid about driving the car.

Are 4 lugs enough to hold the wheel safely?

yes, it should be safe for a short period of time. Just pickup an extra lugnut asap though.

Dude it's your car trying to tell you something. Put the Megans on... it even started removing the wheels for you

@stillhere - thought the specs were 100 lbs? I have to consult the manual.

What you're really supposed to do is torque the wheel nuts to proper spec, then drive 50 miles, then retorque them again. This is the proper way to tighten wheel luts.

Wow, 80 ft-lbs is what the manual recommends. I thought it was 100.

EDIT: wait, this might only apply to the spare... I can't find anything in there about the factory wheels :/

if you're running tuner lugs just go and buy a set of lug locks that way you wont have to buy a whole new set

No, you're right. Factory torque specs for our wheels 80 ft/lbs.

Where have you seen this written down? I looked all over in my manual, but found nothing.

Honda cars have always required 80 ft lbs of torque on wheel nuts as far back as I can remember. Not certain about SUV's or pickups.
