Miro 111 brembo clearance?

i've been searching for a while now and haven't found the answer yet but was hoping someone has gone through this already. i know people have the miro 111 or 112 but i've never seen them on a brembo brake setup, they've all been on automatics. i'm interested in running the miro 111 wheel in an 18x8.5 +35.

a wheel vendor told me that the setup would not clear the brembo brakes, while the wheel manufacturer told me that they will clear the brembo brakes. so i'm pretty much at a loss haha. i haven't found a local dealer yet to do a test fit (san diego).

i just can't waste money on buying them and not having them clear, and running spacers is not an option for me (i get all my tires from discount tires, and they will not rotate/balance my tires if they have spacers on).

thank in advance for any insight

thanks i've been across this site before and it's helpful with tire/wheel combinations. however one of the biggest factor in fitting wheels over the brembo brakes is the concavity of a particular wheel. which is where i'm clueless here.

i might be able to locally test fit some vmr wheels (vmr is super responsive but they've never test fitted their items on a Type S before), but i don't know any local vendors that have miro wheels on stock.

you can try seeing if other cars like sti's and evo's have run them. If it clears their brembos then it should clear ours

I think a few BMW and Audi's have them but they are running spacers or caliper grinding to make the Miro 111's fit.

the specs you chose are cutting it VERY close.
I would choose more of an aggressive spec for that wheel

unfortunately no one really has an off the shelf 18x8.5 with an offset between 20 and 35, which would be ideal. the only option is the forgestar f14s but i'm being a cheap ass and not wanting to spend 1400 haha (and that would not go over well with my wife haha). the options i'm looking at are 800-1000.

one other option i found that i "mostly" like is the enkei 18x8.5 +35 and supposedly this fits over the brembos. the only holding part for me is that at some angles it looks convex (where the spokes branch from the hub). oh well i guess beggars can't be choosers, that's my best option right now (and it's lighter than my xxrs by 3 lbs!!)

yea i just don't see this wheel fitting unfortunately. it's very similar to the avant garde's m359 wheels i bought (18x8.5 +35) and was guaranteed to fit...and when it didn't clear the brembos i at least got a full refund.

i currently have an aggressive wheel (18x8.75 +20) which is why i'm changing my setup. i run 225/40 tires and i want to bump it up to 235 for a more comfortable ride for my wife but the only wheels that fit over the brembos are really aggressive and don't allow me to bump up to a 235/40 tire, which is the reason i'm wanting to switch.

i already have rolled fenders all around and previously ran a 235/40 tire on my setup but the tires were getting slashed even after cutting the fender tab.

thanks for the inputs guys!

Started randomly emailing companies advertising on Craigslist for these wheels and one responded. Turns out they had a type s in a few months ago and as suspected, they needed a spacer to clear the brembos on the Miro 111 18x8.5 +35

I remember when I had the Lexus IS 350 and TL Type S a few years ago and it sucked looking for non-aggressive wheels that would clear. I ended up sticking with OEM wheels that will clear for sure.

Good luck with your search!

I test fit Miro 111, 18x9.5 40mm on my 06 with brembos. Did not clear, even tried 5mm spacer, still did not clear.

Problem with comparing to Evo or STi is their rotors are larger, pushing the brembo caliper out further than ours, in which fits more wheels. Our rotor is small. Too small IMO and you will have hard times fitting wheels.

Wheels I've fit:
Ray's 57F 18x8.5 45mm
Enkei Kojin 17x9 45mm
Advanti Racing Deriva 18x9.5 22mm
TSW Parabolica 18x9 32mm
Enkei PF01 17x8 45mm

Did not fit:
Miro 111 18x9.5 40mm, even with 5mm spacer No Fit

the two most current wheels i'm looking at now are the tsw nurburgring (gunmetal with mirror cut face) and the enkei raijin (hyper silver).

i followed up with a bunch of past owners and found that both of the setups below will fit over the brembos with no spacers needed.

tsw nurburgring, 18x9 +32 (19.4 lbs) - about $1100
enkei raijin, 18x8.5 +35 (20.7 lbs) - lowest locally was $850, avg was $1050

both of these wheels are very light compared to my current setup (xxr 530s at 18x8.75 +20, which is 23.1 lbs!). leaning more towards the tsw wheels since they are forged and slightly lighter. the enkei raijins are nice but that wheel spec isn't very concave and actually has a slight convex look to it, whereas the tsw ones are flat but still look sweet

my current tires are 25 lbs (225/40 bridgestone re970as), so if i switch tires (continental dws 06 in 235/40...22 lbs) and wheels i could save almost 7 lbs a wheel! however...

i just got the TB service and valve adjustment (1k), AND bought tein street flex coilovers (945), so the wheels are on hold for now but maybe this information will help someone searching in the future (or me in about 6 months!)

talking with enkei, i found that the 18x9.5 +35 will need spacers...which was a bummer because this wheel has such great concavity which is what i like
